Sand Rover
Finally finished my Sand Rover. I got this as an ex toy shop display so it's never been used. Thats about to change.
Should be lots of fun on the beach, just need to find time to put some electrics in it. Hopefully next weekend.
If anyone in Australia has the metal upright to hold the windscreen on, I will gladly swap my first born for them!
regards
Jak

Better make sure your wife never reads that lineRizzo wrote:...

I'm eager to hear about how this ancient buggy drives, never expected anyone to still dare to run them.
These old style sandbuggies were so cool, hopefully with the back-to-scale movement going on we'll get to see a new version... even it were a tamtech gear it would be cool.

Ok, this has got to be the coolest body design tamiya ever did. Beautiful machine you have there.

Re: Sand Rover
This was my first ever R/C car! Funnily enough, the metal uprights that hold the windscreen on were missing from my kit and it was a whole month before I could get my mum to drive me back to Beatties to get replacements!
Is that the stock bumper? I'm sure mine came with the same bumper as the Sand Scorcher - the plastic one with the horizontal bar going through it!

Re: Sand Rover
I made the bumper from some stainless tubing. The colour is Tamiya Metallic Red with several coats of gloss

Really nice!
Why can't there be a bikini clad hottie in the seat though? That car deserves it.
Speaking of topless pix.

JRX2 in the late 80s... have since come to my senses with the RC10T, yes of course it's vintage! Wife is always destroying her Tamiaya LunchBox to call me her personal mechanic a few more times. Enjoying the fresh build of an RJ Speed Digger.
