Re: 1991 Prototype Worlds Car Pics
Never thought that top deck was nothing else than fiberglass, carbon fiber or something similar, but You are right, it is plastic too.
Are the nuts pressed into front (aluminium?) shock tower for upper front suspension link internal mounting ball stud? They somehow seems to be in same level with shocktower surface. Also the unused (more internal and external) holes seems to be way too large for 4-40 ball stud.

Re: 1991 Prototype Worlds Car Pics
I asked Gil for a few details about these pictures. Here's his response.
"We tested Kydex plates. We raced with carbon. We had 20,25,30 degree plates. Most of the team raced 30.
Yes we use threaded inserts on the tower. Nuts would have hit the shocks."- Gil

Were those gold shock bodies ever released or where they only prototype parts? I picked up a JRXpro off Craig's List recently which has them.

Yes they were released but they sold them only really short time, maybe a few months or something. Those gold shock bodies were also "hard body" as were black shocks on jrx pro se and many Team Losi models after that.Top_Billing wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2018 12:13 pm Were those gold shock bodies ever released or where they only prototype parts? Man I was so busy that day taking my own pictures I forgot Gil was snapping picts as well.

It will be a year in March. I really got to get vintagelosi.com updated.

Ok, this has inspired me to get on it now. Do some small updates at a time instead of one big one. Here is a tease until I get some done.

Yes and yes.
I stayed up late last night and will have most of the photos up soon. They will blow everyones mind for sure. I am still amazed at the awesome stuff a year later going through these pictures again.
Transcribing the interview stuff with Gil Losi Jr, as well as Mom and Pops will take some time though.

Awesome. I'm glad my hounding him for pics got you to load yours. Do you have any of the underside of the rear of the 91 World's car with the gearbox attached? We can see that the chassis is cut and in one shot that there is a small piece of metal that screws on somehow underneath the gearbox but no detail as to how. There are still no good shots of the topside of the front bulkhead pivot piece that attaches to the chassis.

Re: 1991 Prototype Worlds Car Pics
You can piece together the front bulkhead to chassis mount pretty good from all the pictures now.
But I admit the rear is not well documented. I know it is metal plate sandwiched between the rear bulkhead and chassis. But I have no good picture of it.

Re: 1991 Prototype Worlds Car Pics
Whatever happened to theis project? WIth all the NIX91 projects out there would love to see one of these completed with a 3D printing option. I recall Gil Jr. said these cars were one of the best handling at the time or ever in this era. Maybe ever and would still dominate, OK, I made that part up.

I know I’m resurrecting a very old thread, but it is too good not to. Thank you all for sharing these pics! This car was so awesome!
