Road House was on last night.. what a great movie.

I finally had the motivation and time to finish shortening a chassis. I wanted to shorten it 20mm as I felt this looked the best but then a full size lipo wouldn't fit, so I compromized and it ended up 15mm shorter than stock. It's still in the mock-up stage so I still need to scribe the final shape...

I thought "I could make that!" So off I went looking for materials. I found the tripod first which I thought a bit uncanny that it looked identical. Next was to buy some plastic, velcro, eyelets and an eyelet punch. I cut out a bit of plastic, drilled and tapped some holes 20240701_200353....

And viola ! Looks almost like the factory one. Not perfect but definitely looks better than the brick, although, the brick is still probably more stable and robust, lol. I know the newer personal lap timers are better with an app for your phone and whatnot but I like my semi-nostalgic set up. 202407...

For stock motors you'll definitely have to change to a smaller spur if one isn't included. Take your desired spur gear and divide it by your pinion, then times it by the transmission ratio. This is a slippery slope, understandable and unfortunate but as much as I've been an Associated customer for over 30 years their lack of the RC10/T market and parts availability I don't feel sorry for them. If Associated listened to customers in the first place Fan RC wouldn't have come to fruition....

Like said above it's all about fairness to both parties getting what they want. There is no point in keeping the Clod if it's not something that your really interested in.
