Re: The Presto Resto
The Presto is just a Vanning with a lexan body and a couple longer chassis spacer rods where the cage would usually mount up.

Re: Turbo Optima 2019 re-release in “boring” box art colors
Turned out very nice. :D Another option on the pinstripe might be the Pactra trim tape if it's still available, I've got a roll of black tape that has 7 different thicknesses on it, not sure if it can be used on the inside of the body or not. I found using automotive glass cleaner to apply the stick...

Re: Turbo Optima 2019 re-release in “boring” box art colors
Thanks Keith. :D I think you're right about the bumper... P1010560.jpg Kyosho packs both bumpers in the box so you won't need to choose. The bigger bumper definitely makes the car look more vintage. Now, if I could only do something about those hideous tires.... That looks a lot better. Actu...

Re: First one I ever had... 2019 Turbo Optima re-re build
I just tried a Marwan OT-66 tyre on a re-release Turbo Optima wheel and it fitted well. I didn't use the foam inserts or the inner beadlock band. I'm not sure if you'd need either one as the OT-66's are harder than the re-release kit tyres. FYI, might be an idea to warm the tyre up before fitting it...

Re: The Presto Resto
Minor but significant update. Anyone who knows these old chain drive Kyosho buggies will know how hard parts can be to find, in particular the front bumpers. I've been trying to find one for a long time with no luck so I started thinking about making one. I happened to have piece of 1.5mm alloy shee...

Re: Turbo Ultima rebuild
That really looks the goods man, if I'm not mistaken, only these and the Turbo Optima Mid SE have those platinum shocks?

Re: Stinger MKll restoration
Looks pretty good in the pics Derek, how did you go about doing the wing mount? I'm missing that too.

Re: Kyosho assault question
Try looking for Beetle re-release wheels, they're identical to Assault wheels apart from the rears being one piece. Part numbers are SCH004Y for the rears and the fronts are SCH003Y. Marwan does repro front and rear tyres or just get the Beetle, Scorpion, Tomahawk tyres.

Re: Kyosho Turbo Optima Legendary series - 30619
Personally I'm not a fan of the TO's wheels, they have very light greyish tinge to them (the re-release Optima wheels are the same) and don't look as nice as the originals that are distinctively whiter. I'd also prefer the original 3 piece design so you don't have to glue the tyres on.
