Re: Tamiya discontinued items?
For a topic that amounted to complaining about how expensive vintage and re-re parts have become, that sure escalated quickly...

Re: Kyosho Turbo Ultima MID MOTOR
Nice work! I'm interested to hear how it handles. You've turned a Turbo Ultima into a Mid RWD, while I turned a Turbo Optima Mid SE into a Mid RWD...different paths with the same destination.

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-)
Key questions: is tapping screw a generic term for something else more precise in the screw specialists terms? Is a tapping screw for wood ok for plastic application...? I'll provide a simple answer. Self-tapping screws typically have coarser threads that are meant to bite into whatever material yo...

Re: Losi XX Kinwald build
I'm not a fan of yellow either, but your build is gorgeous and the attention-to-detail with the consistent color scheme is excellent. I like how you painted the body with the black paint splatters. Even the wing buttons match.

Re: Kyosho Scorpion / Tomahawk with custom parts
Those look like Duratrax wheels. Looks like a nice build project, looking forward to updates!

Re: Kyosho Scorpion / Tomahawk with custom parts
Thank you both for the kind words. Duratrax wheels - correct! Thank you for highlighting. Have updated post accordingly. If the anodizing on those wheels is looking a little dull, they do polish up nicely after removing the anodizing. 8) https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=113&t=31065&...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-)
I don't know if this might help with an idea, but here's how I repaired completely cracked self-tapping screw mounting posts on a FeiLun FT012 RC boat I modded. If the post threads are stripped out, use slightly bigger-diameter screws after strengthening the mounting posts. https://www.rc10talk.com/...

Re: Kyosho Javelin Legendary series - 30618
Yeah, I don't like that proximity of the motor protector and contacts, either. The position of the motor leads doesn't seem conducive to easy shrink-wrapping. Here's an idea though, you could brush on some coats of Plasti-Dip over the exposed contacts' solder joints. It'll come out gloss black and l...

Re: Marui hunter restoration
What Dadio said. Parts availability for Tamiya cars is much better than for Marui cars, and Marui cars all have numerous weak points making them very fragile. They're great resto projects, though!

Re: Snake Themed Tamiya Sand Viper
Very nice, Barney the dinosaur approves! I like that you went with natural-looking colors for the "snake skin".
Are the wheels painted a similar color to match?

Re: RC10DS - Lamborghini Murcielago (Re-Do)
Nice job! Although not a fan of Camel yellow, I like that painting the Lambo in that color pays tribute to the RC10.

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-)
"Perfect state" and "good state" I can guess at the condition...but "proper state" is one I haven't heard before.
How is a proper state relative to good and perfect states?

Re: Project F-Bomb: Reimagining a WLToys 144001
Finally got the body painted. As I'm building this for my 11-year-old daughter, I asked her what colors and how she wanted it painted. "Pink, purple, sparkles...and unicorns." Sheesh...I wanted the body to look cool and aggressive, so this was not going to be easy. Here's what I came up wi...
