Re: Le Mans motor restorations

I don't think the 240S was ever underrated. Most anybody you talk to says they're fantastic. 8)

Re: Optima Pro

What I've found when tinting windows is, what looks perfect while you're holding the body and looking in the windows, ends up being too dark once you mount the body on the chassis. I think it's happened to me every time I've tinted windows.

Re: Doritos 2nd Degree Burn and hot sauces!

A friendly bump. These are pretty good if you're looking for a little heat. Not crazy hot, but very tasty. A bit higher in sodium than some other chips if you're watching that. I tried those a few weeks ago. I love sour and I love spicy, and those really hit both notes! You definitely get wa...

Re: Project F-Bomb: Reimagining a WLToys 144001

Here's a fun update for this project. Well, the front shock towers on this chassis got in the way of mounting an on-road body as low as I wanted. I tried everything I could think of and there was still too much clearance between the front fenders and the tires. Clearly this build will have to be a t...

Re: Flying Point Ena 3D

Are you also gonna get the 2D version? You could probably tack it on your wall.

Re: Rampage GP10 Electric?

Make sure you're saving the file as a .JPG/.JPEG format. The large image I uploaded in my last post is a fairly large 1100 x 882 pixel resolution and I routinely upload pics around that size. The file as a JPG ends up being about 277 KB. Pics right off of cellphones are often ridiculously huge, supe...

Re: Very young youngtimer ;) Hot Bodies D413

Lots and lots of elbow-grease and sore wrists and hands...either with fine grit wet-sanding or a polishing bit & compound with a Dremel, I'm guessing. Nice work there.

Re: Trinity Tru Lathe

A toothbrush and WD40 will get all the grease and dirt off your parts as quickly and efficiently as anything. Then, wipe off and re-lubricate any bearings or moving parts. It's true that WD40 is not a lubricant, and most people have the mistaken idea that it is...but to get rid of moisture, dirt, oi...

Re: Trinity Tru Lathe

We can agree on WD40 being mis-marketed and used as a lubricant, but for everything else--degreasing, removing water, adhesive removal, as a light penetrant or general cleaning--it's fantastic. I suppose the caveat would be, if you use WD40, be sure to relubricate after use. For the record, I would ...

Re: Very young youngtimer ;) Hot Bodies D413

Very nice work! What did you use to remove the anodizing? Easy Off oven cleaner. Let it soak for a few minutes, brush off with toothbrush and rinse with water. Wear gloves because the oven cleaner will irritate your skin. Sometimes you'll see a dark grey smut appear, I think it depends on the quali...

Re: Vintage RC market predictions -

The value for vintage anything that's good quality will only go up, this should be no surprise to anyone. It doesn't matter whether it's RC, musical instruments, car parts, etc...if it's quality and it's old, the value always goes up. I've always said one caveat to this, however: vintage crap is sti...

Re: Reset/calibrate generic 120A v2.3 brushless waterproof ESC

I think the first calibration was bad, because now, my neutral is not at the center of my transmitter, i bought the program card, like you, but i can't do a new procedure to calibrate neutral, full gaz and full brake... An idea or it's too late the error is fatal ? It's not possible for me than thi...

Re: Kyosho le Mans 480 T ...wow

There's one issue with your reassembly, Paolo...WD40 is *not* a lubricant. It's fantastic for CLEANING your motor and bearings of the old dirt, grease and dirty oils, but you need to relubricate with a proper oil after you've finished the cleaning and blown out the WD40 to dry out the bearings. Any ...
