Re: Help needed to identify 1/12th body and very rare parts.

Thought Terry SC would like to see this close up.... Anyone any thoughts on what this would have been based on..? Those rear blocks definitely look like a production item, the better view helps. Material used would point to one of the Japanese manufacturers, but the blocks match nothing I know of. ...

Re: Acme Cyclone 1/10 Onroad Rebuild

Easy one, it's an Acme Cyclone. It comes with an SH or Infinity .18 engine. It looks like a standard Cyclone upgraded with the two speed, the Cyclone Pro would also have alloy shocks. This looks an old one but with minor updates the car is still sold today, I see plenty of these as I work for the UK...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

Thanx romulus22. Pretty much mostly cc01 stuff :D . Anyone ID any of these carcasses of mostly elcheapo road cars. Bottom right one is very kyoshoish to me but I'm pry way off base on that. Top right seems like a pile of redcat crap I had awhile back.15432766429807587535953122560090.jpg Not looking...

Re: Full Spike tyres for Nitro 10?

As you are talking about 15x20 tyres I assume you have the buggy version, with the buggy wheels. The 20x15, 3x20, 8x10 were the spike layout on the tyres, not the tyre size. Buggy tyres are standard sizes, either 2" diameter for really old tyres or 2.2" diameter for everything after the ea...

Re: First one I ever had... 2019 Turbo Optima re-re build

Tamiyas Wild Willy was the first with the 12mm hex drive 2 years previously, but the wheel fits over both the hex drive and over the wheel bearing as well to locate it, the hex drive was just the inner part of the wheel mount. Tamiya also used a much smaller hex drive in some of their Racing Master ...

Re: Intrigued by RC bikes...suggestions?

Still much a niche category, it still has a national championship here in the UK and there is an official world championships which runs each year. They used to be pretty big a few years ago, I even got involved with the design of this https://www.tamiyaclub.com/tcimages/297/img297_09092009220500_2....

Re: Will these still work with the right battery and controller?

Any 75mhz AM transmitter and matching crystals should work with those, but for reliability it's worth replacing the receiver with a modern 2.4Ghz radio. Minimises the chance of any radio interference and basic radios can be picked up very cheaply. The servo and ESC will work fine with modern receive...

Re: Optima re-re parts compatibility

Thinking about it again (it's just an exercise..), with the addition of OT221 the diff bodies get complete and I am pretty sure they would fit the original transmission housings. Only doubt left is about the internal parts of the diffs: direct swap or they don't fit the new diff bodies? Only way to...

Re: Hobbywing QuicRun 10.5 T Combo Really Slow - So Frustrated - Any Ideas?

Does the esc have timing function? Yes it does. By default it is set to 0. I have not tried to adjust the timing as I figured even at 0 it should be pretty darn quick. :? This will be your problem, there's a reason the ESC comes with the default timing set at 15 degrees. 0 degrees timing is only re...

Re: CAT XLS - parts that wear out

Schumacher still make and sell parts for cars that are over 25 years old, as long as there is a demand and they can actually make the parts they will still keep making them. If their moulding machines are idle it is easy for them to pop in an old mould and make a few parts. They have stopped selling...

Re: Where are cars made (Losi)

It used to be a lot simpler to work out where cars were made, as Kingstar Neo in Taiwan was the worlds biggest rc car manufacturer that no one had heard of. They shut down in 2017, but before that they designed and manufactured cars for many brands, with their biggest customer being HPI Racing and H...

Re: Where are cars made (Losi)

People complain about the price of Tamiyas compared to most others, while they don't make their models in China. Guangdong and Fujian provinces are the worlds manufacturing capital for consumer electronics, so it's always going to be the place to go to get something like an rc model built. There are...

Re: Bolink Digger sort of

Thanks , these tires are very tight to manoeuvre about on the rim so I don't think contact cement without the turps is a good idea Being a tight fit is normal, they need to be stretched on to the wheel to stay on there. I use Evostik for foam tyres, and back in the day never had anywhere I could st...
