Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - February 2025 ** - Winner - 1300GT
My recently rebuilt JRX Pro SE I've been running in the Silvercan class. JRX-ProSE-ls.jpg IMG_20250205_191601121_HDR.jpg My first hobby grade rc was this same model, granted not this exact car seen here, as that was long sold off in the 90s. This car came to me as a complete basket case but has sinc...

Re: Jrx2 Proformance - Kit build w/out hop-ups
Since the body was painted by Jack it makes sense to use the Motown Missile. I’ll keep the Jr’s choice in the motor tube in case I swap it out. The Tekin 411P was released in 1990, and so was this particular Rx. This saves me from having to hunt down an ESC 600 or 610. Servo is a high end bearing an...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - February 2025 ** - Winner - 1300GT
Had the kit when I still lived in Maine, but didn't build it until now because I got cancer. Jesus cured me, so now I don't have cancer anymore, but a renewed motivation to complete all the kits and parts cars that were sitting in my storage. I never had a real desire to get an Ultima until I saw Sh...

Re: Tamiya Top Force - Kit No. 100
Electronics and top deck installation completed, using all the original electronics including the AM rx. We are so spoilt these days with 2.4 stuff. The antenna wire on this is so long, I’ve forgotten how best to ‘arrange’ it https://tcphotos.net/images/2025/02/02/IMG_8445.jpeg https://tcphotos.net/...

Re: Laser cut metal gears?
Well, the stepper motor finally arrive and the autopsy revealed a 3-stage planetary set. Each gear set is 3.56:1 (the cube root of 45.2) so I've gone ahead and modified the transmission to use only one gear set: planetary gear set.JPG I needed to turn an input shaft, make a bearing carrier and a mot...

Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar
I needed a statement color for the next step of this project, which will turn in my first very own design... Bright orange will go nicely with a black Kydex chassis https://i.imgur.com/NrmLg6V.jpeg The nut in the deep area of the upright is used to control the centering of the screw. The fit is tigh...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
Got the threaded stubs shortened. https://i.imgur.com/5ekIHhi.jpg Tamiya wheels and RC10 knockoffs are solid now. https://i.imgur.com/jJDqnlx.jpg Had these laying around, the motor is a definite yes, would like to find an era correct Tekin ESC in black and chrome, someday. https://i.imgur.com/D6HRre...

Re: Currently Watching
House (1985) It's categorized as a comedy horror but isn't overly funny or scary which I don't mean disparagingly. It's standard '80s fare, and one of my favorites. I think I first saw it in the '90s, and have watched it periodically ever since. It stars William Katt who was slated to be an '80s act...

RC10 parts with set screws instead of E-Clips
As you can see there is a cylindrical part added on these RC10-parts, so you can use a setscrew to secure the hingepins. Very comfortable, no more lost E-clips. And it is very easy to make your own hingepins, no need to make a groove to seat a clip, just buy 1/8" steel rod from a hardware store...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
I took this pic yesterday while trying to get back in the habit of getting my steps in during the day. This would be from the south side of Potterfield Bridge looking north across the James River to what would be considered the western portion of downtown Richmond, Va. The bridge itself is kinda coo...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
All great builds start with a Tonka truck!
I see months of fun and frustration with this thing.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Couldn't find the wings that came with the Leadfinger Retro body for my Micro B so I made my own out of scrap lexan.
