Re: gold 8-32 aluminum screw alloy?

They were originally pulled from the aviation industry and someone out there probably has the drawing and part number for them.. I have found almost identical rivets on aircraft surplus website but never those screws. I too would suspect 7075 for the material. Though I think 2024 or 6061 is more com...

Re: gold 8-32 aluminum screw alloy?

I couldn’t tell you right away but I’ve got occasional access to a material identification gun. It’s what the metal recycling industry uses on the unknown stuff. Pretty accurate minus the temper. For the 70-120 price for ano on the handful of screws, I could see that. You’re not really getting over ...

Re: gold 8-32 aluminum screw alloy?

Dave Geitner on Facebook buys the 8-32 100 degree alum screws in bulk from fastener express, anodizes them in the various vintage gold colors, and sells them for $1 ea.

Looks greater than 90 by eye, if they come from the aircraft industry like mentioned then that makes sense. They use 100 on imperial flatheads.

Lane's gallery thread

Since most of my dad’s pics are gone from his posts I’ll start adding some of the cars back up. First one is a Chris Allec special, scratch built chassis that was raced at the nats before the double decker 91 worlds car. Chris gave it to my dad to run afterwards. https://filedn.com/lrK7XiCxEw7LTTVXJ...

Re: Mid 4:10

Right after you entered this in the BOM comp I spotted something that I just can't unsee , now you've won and rightly so I can say it not as sour grapes during the comp , the front belt tensioner is on the pull side of the belt not the slack side , this causes more drag , its an awesome build but th...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

I'm trying to identify these tires. They came on a beautiful MIP 4-10 Legend, 4 tires front and rear, all new condition. The legend instructions have the Losi spikes up front and X pattern in the back both of which I have - so I was thinking of converting to manual spec. But I really want to know w...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

Maybe the DTXC5114? Or maybe not. Looking again, the spike pattern looks different. . DBTC.jpg Something close to that. The knobs are a bit more volcano shaped I think. I'm at a loss on this one.. Unbranded but I feel like I have seen these somewhere before.. Possible Parma copies of the CAT tires.

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)

My Novak T-1X is the pride of my ESC collection. Other racers had better motors, better battery packs, peak chargers, PCM radios, faster buggies, and actual driving skills 🤣 but I had this bad mo fo T-1X in my Turbo Optima so I could run way better motors than I actually owned. With my previous Nova...

The Delta Ray Buggy an hybrid between Manta Ray and Lancia Delta HF Integrale following the footsteps of the Yokomo Hot Dog 4. Ko Propo servo and receiver, Robitronic Speedstar 2 ESC and Peak 12x2 motor complete the job. https://www.tcphotos.net/images/2022/06/06/drb_rc10talk01.jpg https://www.tcpho...
