Re: Jamin's Losi Street Weapon IWC Edition!
The real period correct body would be an Andy's Stratus....

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
There were a lot of "straight graphite" chassis back then. The original JRX2 comes to mind as a good example. Is that edge photo showing a sandwich of another material between layers of graphite? There was one company that sold a lot of chassis like that, maybe DA, with a wood core...??

Re: Shodog's HPI RS4 Pro2
The RS4 Pro and Pro2 were great cars. Tamiya may have kicked the genre off, but HPI made the competition end of things explode. When I started racing on road, these cars were in a huge percentage of the pits. In a now regrettable decision, I used a Hot Trick Frog chassis to make the roll center plat...

SRB/Sand Scorcher B4 slipper mod
A few years ago I picked up a basket case Rough Rider for like $10 at the going out of business sale of a long time hobby shop. I bought it because it was cheap and original, and I thought it would be fun to take apart. I had no plans for it. Fast forward to 1300GT's incredible 4WD SRB thread . That...

4wd SRB Trailing arm buggy
In admiration of 1300GT's 4wd SRB, I'm starting on my own attempt at building a similar car. I figured out a B4 slipper gearbox setup in this thread - https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=44855 Now I'm mocking things up for the chassis. 2 3D printed replica MIP gearboxes, 3D Printed fro...

Re: RPS Yokomo YZ-834B
Slot car brushes should fit the Checkpoint motor - most any slot car track should be able to help you.

Re: Re wiring older Novak ESCs.
I have done old Novaks and Tekins before, and one tip is to ream the hole for the wire once you have removed the old wire. Run a drill bit the size of the hole through by hand to remove any solder running over the edges. Otherwise, the wire will be hard to seat in the hole, even if you pre tin it, w...

Re: Novak design team - Dually
REN is probably Bob Novak, and ASK is probably Adnan Khan. THP might be Tyree Phillips.

Re: 4wd SRB Trailing arm buggy
I think if I make longer front towers and a long shock end I can run short golds on the front and still clear the drive axles. Built the Tamiya SRB diffs and installed them. I'll need to figure steering pretty soon as well. BTW Corally sedan CVDSfit almost perfectly, not that it's period correct. If...

Re: 4wd SRB Trailing arm buggy
After like 4 months, I got back to this thing. Front shock fitment was at a stand still, but I decided to use Optima re re shocks. I mocked up a bunch of stuff, but the best way to get the shock in and keep it from hitting everything on the front end was to lop off the SRB mounts and make a fibergla...

Re: 4wd SRB Trailing arm buggy
After last night I was pretty motivated to get the front end set up. I kinda cribbed off of 1300GT's steering set up, but used some MIP Rc10 steering arms. I wanted to set the servo off to the side so I could move the battery around or use a long pack. I don't know where the weight needs to be. I ca...

Re: 4wd SRB Trailing arm buggy
Well, after much consternation, I got this car running. The Tf2 universals worked out, and didn't require any trimming of the replacement diff shafts. I bought some Frog wheel adapters and used them to mount the tires on the rims as mounted. Only one problem, the axles were too short with the very w...

Re: 4wd SRB Trailing arm buggy
Body and wing time........ I had an original Assault body that really looks better than the body I was going to use. I bent the wing up with some sheet aluminum. Good times!
