Don't go down that path! It leads to other rational thinking.

Re: Front wheel/tire option

Doing a little research revealed that the Turbo Scorpion uses the same steering assembly and 8mm od bearings as well. It also appears that it uses a 12mm hex rear wheel.

So, this may turn out to be another 2.2 wheel option.

Re: RC10T3 Factory Team build

The rear black springs are still available new. Amain has some in stock right now.

Probably a little light for a truck, if you plan on actually running it much (that's way too nice of a truck to scratch up!).

I started using these on just about everything.

Re: The most "rare" production RC10 ever... (RC10 GX ?)

Comparatively, the B2 wasn't in production very long. In addition, they were easily converted to B3's with a kit.

Re: 3D printer for parts

No, the plastic is not as strong.

But yes, lots of us have decent luck with 3D printed parts.

I don't know about any of the design aspects, I just buy parts that others have designed, usually from Shapeways.

Re: Radio opinions

I still use older Futaba, Airtronics, and JR analog radios. Most of them still have the features that you actually use, including endpoints and model memory. In addition to that, they don't have binding or brand compatibility issues. All of my transmitters and receivers on that band will work togeth...

Re: Removing paint from a body

If a replacement body and decals are available, I'd definitely recommend going that direction.

I've seen some bodies that were stripped and repainted with decent results, but I've never had such luck. The older bodies that I've tried wound up hazy and cracked.

Re: The Horror is True

Seeing one of my pan cars lay waste to a 1000cc Ninja for a couple hundred feet ended the "toy" talk with most of my family and friends.

I thought that I had last place wrapped up with a Digger. But threesheds said that he would battle me for last and came prepared. But not to go down without a fight, he got my vote.

Re: Thinking about dyno's for brushed motors

I'm still collecting stuff but this is what I come up with to attach the reflective tape to. I took a smaller spur gear that I had laying around and opened it up just enough for a pinion to fit snugly. I haven't glued it together yet, but I spun it up on a 15T modified. It spun true, without any vib...

Re: Thinking about dyno's for brushed motors

I made this bracket with some scrap metal. 1" aluminum flat bar bolted to a piece of 1.25" steel bar. I tried it out but it really needs something more substantial. It will stay upright while running but vibrates around. It will also torque over on a full power start. I think a small selec...

Coelacanth wrote: Fri Feb 19, 2021 4:36 pm EDIT: I just re-read the whole brochure and it mentions that they tested all these RPMs with 6-cell packs.
I wonder if they mean 7.2 volts or a fresh charged 6 cell pack, which is over 9 volts. That peak voltage wouldn't last long (especially with 1200 mah) but should hold out for a dyno run.
