Re: WOIO build

Question about the Traxxas 7171 rear wheels. Do they have the right offset, or do the shorten or lengthen the rear wheelbase. Thanks again Yes, the offset is correct. It might not be exactly the same as original but it falls within spec. And it's track width, not wheelbase. Wheelbase is front to re...

What the hell, I'll throw something in. I'm at work, so you get a rerun.

My Gold pan street buggy.

Re: RC10T2 Basher

Check you comm that there aren't dark spots/peeling after using your comm pen, it's possible that it's burnt or damaged depending on the arcing and heat. If it was run until the brushes were gone, I'm quite sure that it was arcing heavily. The spring tension would have been minimal. At the very lea...

Re: Z Bend Pushrod for the 6 gear asc 6256

I have some that measure 0.059" and others that are 0.063".

That being said, I don't use them on any of my cars. Only one even has the original style servo saver, only because I had a new one laying around.

Re: Motor Collection - Old School Horsepower

I picked up this Trinity Slot Machine 2, mainly because I like the red endbell. I cleaned it good, cut the comm, trued the brushes, and put on new brush hoods. I had a couple Speedworks decals and thought it looked good with the endbell. Screenshot_20220412-155608_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20220412-155...

I measured the ones from my Digger, they were 0.058". While they definitely cost more, they aren't expensive. They also include new collars.

Look at the pic closer. There are buggy and truck nose plates.

Those are correct for a later car.

The Good Year and unmarked tires were on earlier cars.

Re: Basement find

If you intend on actual running it, I'd probably find some different bellcranks. Pretty much, any other one. While the Hot Trick parts definitely have a vintage vibe to them, they...... kinda suck. Factory Works still makes the original A&L setup and JConcepts makes some nice aluminum ones as we...

Re: Favorite tools

Favorite tools, isn't that like picking a favorite child? I have tons of tools, for various purposes. But for rc, I find myself reaching for these most often. Screenshot_20220415-171010_Gallery.jpg The Wiha mini-bit tool covers 0.9-4mm and 0.035-5/32". I have plenty of hex and ball drivers but ...

Re: Motor Collection - Old School Horsepower

Today, I did this Reedy 14X3. Disassembled and cleaned everything, cut the comm, polished the brush hoods, painted the can, and added a new MCI decal. It already had the timing label that matches the decal. Screenshot_20220415-180537_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20220415-180549_Gallery.jpg The brushes had...

Re: Favorite tools

I use this more than any other individual tool in the hobby shop. Oddly enough, mine gets used often as well. It normally stays in my office but I left it on the workbench in the shed yesterday. Even though I have several Mitutoyo and Fowler calipers, I use my cheap digital most often. I like that ...

Brushed motor rehab

I'm throwing this together at the request of another member. This is just some of the stuff that I do, so take it for what it is. If someone has any ideas to add, please do so. I rummaged through my stuff and found this crusty Peak Racing 12X2. It looks like a good candidate. Screenshot_20220416-133...
