Re: Intro - My RC10 Runner Project

I haven't really thought about it. All of my runners get new 48P spur gears, so that has never been a question. 48P makes getting the gear ratio correct so much easier. As long as you don't boil and warp them, I can only see it helping them. If your idle gears are the early white ones, I'd highly re...

Re: Ok maybe it is just a tad bit over geared

Also, CRC QD Electronic cleaner can be used in place of motor spray. Just be sure to get the plastic safe version.

I get mine at Walmart, in the automotive section.

It's about half the price of motor spray, when you can even find motor spray.

Re: Part #: 6579 (Associated Diff Drive Rings) : This item has been discontinued

Frankentruck wrote: Wed Dec 01, 2021 6:52 pm I ordered a pair of RJ Speed 5752 diff rings since they were only $2.99 a set. They fit as direct replacements for my RC12L diff rings which I think takes 6579 rings.
.
6625, same as the 10L and six gear.

The above posts are about 2.25 Stealth diffs.

Re: Proper Comm Lathe Motor

My lathe came with a stock 550, which is slower than a 540 silver can. Even then, it works best if I slow it down. I suspect that a cheap crawler motor would work well.

Re: Proper Comm Lathe Motor

Back in the day, I believe that most people used 4 cell packs on their lathes as well.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

If you haven't already, check your turnbuckles with a magnet. I've got some AE turnbuckles that look like that, they are nickel plated steel.

Then I have others that look identical, that are titanium. One of my trucks came with some of both.

Re: Proper Comm Lathe Motor

Variable speed is nice. If you have a servo tester and spare esc, it makes it easy.

Just plug it into the tester's outlet port and setup the esc as usual. An older esc with adjustments is a little easier than push button models but none of them are hard.

Re-re Blackfoot CVD's fix the dogbone issue and the MIP diff handles the gearbox.

Re: 6355 Rear arms

Those are re-re arms, which are essentially white Worlds arms.

The material has the same texture as the newer, graphite impregnated parts.

Re: Help with ID

And don't forget that parts get replaced over 30 years time. Many times, its with whats available.

If I had to choose an item to study closer, it'd probably be the ball cups.

Seventeen complete motors, seven armatures, several cans and endbells, various motor parts, more brushes, Racetech brush cutter (now I have two), Fantom timing jig, and a Novak Cyclone.
