Re: How do you get and keep an RC10 running?
Simply soaking them in water for several days will work. Mild heat (like a crock pot on low) might speed up the process but I wouldn't boil them. All the Schumacher ones that I've tried fit. It's also worth noting that their ball studs use a M3 thread, which is slightly larger than the original 4-40...

Re: Dog Bone spring and spacer 6372 information
I made a post in your other thread about this.
Those fit like the originals, whereas the spring from a pen is too big around.

Re: How do you get and keep an RC10 running?
The stealth housing on the re-release does not properly fit the gears from the v1 stealth I have. I'll have to check exactly why, but I believe the ideler gear is the difference between the 2. I'll have to disassemble my transmission, but I think one had the bearings in the case with a fixed axle a...

Re: How do you get and keep an RC10 running?
But you are correct about the idle gear. The Worlds car had the bearings in the gear, with a separate axle. Non-Worlds cars and 10T trucks had a one piece gear with bearings in the housing.

Re: Refreshing a RC10 GP - Will Have Many Questions Along The Way
I did some quick math. My JConcepts Hazzard RC10 tires are 3.15" tall. Your RC4WD tires are 3.83" tall. Those are the numbers I used to calculate the effective ratio. An 81/18 spur and pinion (re-re) with the 1.83 transmission equals 8.24:1 final gear ratio. But when combined with the tall...

Re: Trinity Tru Lathe
I'd avoid the WD40. It is not a lubricant, but it will displace your oil and/or grease. If people used it correctly, most would never own a can.
After I cleaned and lubricated my lathe, I just use air duster to clean it after use.

Re: Trinity Tru Lathe
I live on the coast and have fished my whole life, and WD40 is the bane of the fishing world. That stuff has been the downfall of so many reels that its ridiculous. My dad is a constant offender here. I once got a smoking deal on a Shimano Calcutta Conquest on ebay because it was making some noise. ...

Re: Trinity Tru Lathe
Let me be clear, I don't disagree that it can be useful. As with many things, the biggest problem is that people misuse it.
I also have a couple big cans, aerosol and liquid. Both are also several years old. Its just that anything that you would use it for, I have other products that I prefer.

Re: RC10 Noob Questions
When you first received it, I suggested replacing the bellcranks with something else. That is why.
They are also prone to cracking and breaking where the ball studs attach.
I use the Worlds pieces on most of my cars, but I also have Houge, JConcepts, and DS ones as well.

Re: Today, Right Now, Your Most Fun RC Surface Vehicle?
Most fun? Easy, my wide-track Stampede.
I can run it without giving any thought about breaking some part that might be hard to replace.
But given the modifications it has, parts breakage is pretty rare. It will easily survive an accident that would likely mangle an RC10.

Re: Turnigy Trackstar 80A Runaway
It kinda sounds like the high current draw is causing bec issues. Several esc's even warn that similar situations are possible if the battery can't meet the current demand. I don't know how reliable the internal bec is, but an inexpensive external one might fix the problem by drawing power upstream ...

I'm pretty sure that I use 30mm turnbuckles on the rear of all my cars. They fit the front camber links to (short arm).
