Same here. My first hobby grade car was a Bandido, which is from the same family. When I get time, I've got a new TBG body and MCI decals for it.

I guess that I will soon be the owner of a SC10.

Re: Tamiya Poly-Carbonate Metallic Paint - Backing colors
That's why I always do test strips with lexan scraps. That way, you can test different backing colors.
Maybe try putting different color pieces of paper behind the paint to get an idea.

Re: Tamiya Poly-Carbonate Metallic Paint - Backing colors
Also keep in mind that lighting effects the color, as seen. Metallic and florescent colors have very noticeable changes.
This is Tamiya Metallic Burgundy, backed in gunmetal.
It shines and sparkles in the sun but looks extremely dark inside.

These are brass and will easily drill and tap.
I typically drill them out for applications that require more clearance than a larger 4-40 or 3mm conical spacer provides.

I soak Tamiya plastics in cold water anyways.tripedaler wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 2:38 pm Speaking of the stadium Blitzer, looks like the materials are all plastics. No need to rehydrate as with the nylon on a team associated vintage car, right?

Re: Tamiya Polycarbonate Metallic Paint - Backing colors
When doing backing color tests, I don't bother with tape. I just use paper shields.

Nice General Lee! What make and year is your Charger body? Is that the MCIracing, General Lee decal set? Did you spray over the X-11 with Tamiya PS orange? Did you back it with any other color? Thanks as always @juicedcoupe! It is a 1/12 Bolink 69 Charger "Little Rebel" body, on a Digger ...

Re: What springs for old Blue Eagle, SRT, etc shocks?
Older Losi springs, the larger size Tamiya CVA's, and maybe ECX (slightly larger than AE).
Alternatively, you could use a spring collar and different cups, allowing you to use larger springs.

It has an Orb Audio Mini T amplifier with a Bluetooth adapter, powering a set of Klipsch bo...
