Re: RC10 Gold Pan - C stamp?

Is there a special tool to remove the Tamiya battery connector? I need to solder the JST adapter to the Rooster plug, for the BEC. Can't figure out how to get that off without ruining anything. https://i.imgur.com/UUcCC76.jpg There is no need. The Rooster has a BEC. It will back power in through it...

Re: RC10 Gold Pan - C stamp?

The blue receiver and servo with blue plug use the newer "Z" plug. The Z plug has the common wiring format, which follows that of Futaba, Hitec, JR, etc. As I said before, other (non Z) plugs will require a little trimming. The black Airtronics receiver and black plug servo use the older A...

Re: RC10 Gold Pan - C stamp?

To me, that's crazy that they used the same model numbers for the Rx, and Servo, even though they have a different pin layout. Any change in design should've been denoted with a model number change, weird stuff. Thanks guys! I would think so as well. But they did change case color, plug color and d...

Re: RC10 Gold Pan - C stamp?

Once you see the ones from Amazon, you'll understand the price difference.

I bought some cheap ones on Amazon and the leads are tiny and short. I've used some of them but they don't compare to higher quality ones.

Re: Tires…..

Does anyone make a super knobby tire like the oroginsl gold pan cars came with? I picked up a couple sets of the new concepts tires, but what are options for super aggressive tires for the RC10….if there are any options that’s. My track in my yard is pretty loose and the big knobby tires work a lot...

Re: RC10 Gold Pan - C stamp?

Only one cap goes across the positive and negetive tabs. The other two will go from the positive and negetive tabs to ground. Motors with crimped endbells don't have ground tabs. You must attach directly to the can (it takes some practice). Here are a couple of mine. 20231215_151938.jpg 20231215_152...

Re: RC10 Gold Pan - C stamp?

Those are generic bullet terminals, from the auto parts store. It would have originally came with this type. They are open barrel type terminals (require the correct type of crimper) and have silicone sheaths. Screenshot_20231215_160806_Samsung Internet.jpg The terminals themselves are cheap and eas...

Re: Kyoshso Beetle re-re

Is it literally a Scorpion with a Beetle body? Mechanically? Yes. There are some cosmetic changes. Wheel design, plastic colors, etc. As for the Turbo Scorpion, I don't think that there are many mechanical differences between them. At least, as far as the basics go. The 2.2 wheels are clearly diffe...

I went with the Beetle but I would have liked to have also gotten a Turbo Scorpion when they were available.

I dont think id be trying to use a 26t idler in place of a 28t idler, it would be pretty loose!
My bad. I thought that the re-re's actually used the then current B4 idle gear.

JosephS wrote: Thu Jan 04, 2024 7:55 pm The instructions call for the liberal use of lock-tite and there are reports from Facebook that it makes the plastics brittle.
Lock-tite makes a formula for use with plastics. It is literally CA glue.

But yes, using the metal formula on plastics will damage them.

Re: Difference between re-re 6 gear parts and originals

The original and re-re parts are compatible.

The Thorp gears must be used as a full size, including outdrives.
