Re: Have you tried to REDUCE your RC collection?
Sometimes folks "outside the hobby" ask me something like, 'what are you gonna do with it, just put it on a shelf?" And I say something along the lines of, "well duh yeah. It pleases me to just look at something so pristine and hard to find and occasionally pick it up and work th...

Re: Have you tried to REDUCE your RC collection?
I reduced my collection back in the early 2000’s and it was the dumbest thing I have done. Some of those cars I almost gave away and today I’d be paying crazy money for them. Early Cook 1/8 scale, early rc500, delta 1/8, a couple dogfighters one with delta conversion on it, bruiser, Wild Willy, coup...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - September 2022 ** - Winner - THEYTOOKMYTHUMB
Certainly a broad mix of cars this month! I had to go with the one that tugged on my heartstrings.... that being the Egress. I raced against and battled with a very competitive pair of these, sister cars driven by Kevin 'Killer' Griffin and Roy Rogers... who were both Team Demon drivers for the 1991...

Refurbishing electronics
In the hunt for good deals I tend to pick up used ESCs and receivers in need of a little rework. These 2 Novak ESCs needed the standard case cleanups, wiring unsnarling, receiver connector repair, and power switch replacement. For the switches I wasn't satisfied with the standard options that always...

Re: Your top five cherished RC (by manufacture) in a collection?
This would be my list,
RC10 Team Car
RC10T
RC10T2
RC10GT
RC12LW
Five is hard as there are a few other cars I'd like on the list, 10 would probably be a figure I think I could be content with.
This was the highlight era of Associated in my opinion.

Re: Your top five cherished RC (by manufacture) in a collection?
I refuse to participate. That's like telling my kid he's not my favorite son, which might depend on what happened that day (same with the favorite RCs)
If I'm keeping it in my collection, then it's my favorite. Well, maybe not that Losi XXX that keeps sneering at me.

Re: Your top five cherished RC (by manufacture) in a collection?
Out of the cars that I own (19), my top 5 favourite shelfers would be:
AYK Bobcat.
Associated RC10 gold pan (short arm).
Schumacher CAT SWB.
Schumacher C car.
Associated RC12L Graphite.
I've no plans to sell the others either though.

Re: Your top five cherished RC (by manufacture) in a collection?
My original lightened 870c race car
My original Works 91
Pinkomo
Brimod prototype
Concept Car 4wd RC10
(Quite tough actually... I could easily switch those last two for any of my Tomy Intruder, SWB CAT, CAT XL, Pro Radiant, Radiant Mid Supercharge Hotshot).

Re: Anyone Have Some Sanyo (red) SCR NiCads Sitting Around?
This is just a printable matte white vinyl sheet printed with a typical inkjet printer. The actual color is much more red than the pic came out. I have a little work to do, but this is fulfilling my basic requirement of looking like a vintage sub-c battery from 2-3' away while using a modern mah NiM...

Re: Do you display with or without electronics?
All my shelfies get full electronics, and are in position so that they could technically be ready to run with minimum prep (not that that would happen). The electronics are the heart of the car IMO. Without them, it would be like a museum full of 1:1 cars with no engines or drivetrains. It logically...
