Re: Stealth Trans w/Gear Diff
Quote: “That's interesting Tony. I've never even considered using another manufacturer's diff. “ As soon as I get confirmation that Schumacher uses 48 dp I might go forward with my project. Well, don't like bearing bad news but... In regards to the V3 Ball Diff KD / Laydown / KR and similar gear di...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
Hung a few more pieces on the chassis to check alignment, adjust tie rods and check for anything that I've missed so far. And I put the rear shock tower on correctly    The springs look a lot better after their tint job. The car still needs to come back apart for bearings and C-hub...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
Well it's pretty well trimmed. Sanded 320, 400, 800, 1000. 1500 and 3000. A quick buff on the wheel and ... From 6-12" inches away it looked like a mirror finish. optima35.JPG Back to wet sanding. I can never really tell the final finish unless I polish the piece then either take a pic or look ...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
Two more attempts... The second polishing is virtually flawless to the eye. Even the previous pic looked extremely good. Things I must keep in mind, aluminum is one of the most reflective metals, I am exaggerating the ever so slight imperfection with a bright led light , the image on my monitor is a...

Re: Theater room project finished
I am a big fan of home theaters. I have built several and have one of my own.
But the concept you took the dioramas to is next level.
Well done.

Home theater
It took me longer to build the theater than it took to build the house.
130+" screen, 7.1, 2k watts, sub plays well below 20hz and lots of acoustic damping.
The only task that was "farmed out" was the seating upholstery.
It started as an unfinished rectangular room.

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
Hi Doug I haven't given up on the Mid yet :) I just needed to take a break and go back to my roots. The tedious nature of sanding, polishing and anodizing was getting old and I wanted a change. So I've been working a couple of other projects that have been just sitting around and were looking pretty...

Re: Home theater
Thanks guys Steve- It's a painted ceiling with UV reactive glow paint for stars. I had been to "The worlds largest mechanical planetarium" I visited there while on a trip to the family cottage. And that was the inspiration for the ceiling. There are 8 4' UV fluorescent tube fixtures nested...

Re: Home theater
Doug Once again too kind... Thank you. You might even have appreciated the fact that I modeled it first in Sketchup  But not even close to the ability you have shown for nearly photo-realistic renderings on some of your projects. The theater hasn't seen a lot of use last year. But before that...

Birthday RC10
Wife bought me this A stamp for my birthday. Not totally pristine but looks to be fairly period correct and complete. Very few signs of wear other than a few belly scratches and tire wear. Pretty sure it's a Cadillac. Completely disassembled and every nut, bolt, washer, clip, hinge pin, bearing, pie...

Re: Birthday RC10
And it arrived in it's birthday suit, naked! I've been working on that. I might try the Jconcepts Protector body. Started to trim one using this chassis but everything else on the car is pretty original so I may want a Protech. Congrats on the birthday and the RC10. So, did she pick it out and purc...

Re: Birthday RC10
Gotta say this Jconcepts body seems to fit like a glove!
No thin spots either.
Not fully trimmed yet but 90% of the way there.
