Re: Axial Racing any good?

I wish I had better things to say about the wraith but I have yet to run a pack through it without breaking it. I live in Florida so not a lot of heavy crawling action, just a small pile of rocks and some logs here and there which was one reason for not going full crawler. There are plenty of alumin...

Re: Lazer ZX Slipper

Your right both hubs have one ways but they only affect the front drive, essentially working as one. you can tighten down the nut on the center diff guide B to limit the freewheel action but if you want to lock up the rear you need to use a direct bolt to hub spur set up for diff guide A. the rear s...

Re: Axial Racing any good?

I bought a wraith kit and wish I had not. I might get a lot of flak for my critique. From the start it was a pain, the rear axle was too long and required drilling the locker to keep from binding. The o-rings for the shocks were missing and then backordered from axial. After getting the kit together...

I believe the celica and supra share parts. you might want to check on the tuner sites.

Re: Lazer ZX Slipper

rear drive is not on a one way. it drives off of the diff balls on the inside. the hub itself holds the front one way which the shaft goes through and is driven by the outside diff balls. if you take out the diff balls and use pads then essentially you have slipper or you clamp down and it is locked.

Re: Merged Optima

you could also use light gauge aluminum and bend up some c-channel using a small metal brake. harbor freight sells a 18" bench top brake that works quite well and you can get a sheet of aluminum from home depot or hobby shop for cheap. I also use the aluminum and brake to fab alloy wings.

Re: Finally found a Mid SE. (Project)

It seems that I was mistaken and the body part numbers are the same. the mid se uses a sealed black plastic rotory MSC compared to the pcb board style. the wires attach using spade connectors and these hit the windshield and prevent the body from sitting properly. I'm pretty sure its the correct msc...

Here is some of the metal fab work my dad and I built for his jeep cherokee, bumper is removable and can be hooked on back of jeep plus we built full chassis armor and rock sliders. http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o744/kyoshojoe1/2011-05-10_17-35-45_107-Copy1_zpsdde61d23.jpg Here are some of my ...

Re: Finally found a Mid SE. (Project)

probably a good place to ask this. Ive got a restored mid se with the msc. I assume they used a different body than the standard mid with a longer roof line in order to clear the sealed rotory stlye msc vs the pcb style. I can see that the part numbers for the se body differs from the standard mid s...

Re: Finally found a Mid SE. (Project)

I dont think mids are underapreciated. just look at all the build threads. The MId to me is the turning point in 4wd buggies. flat chassis and top plate vs ladder frames and tubs. By far my favorite vintage rc. If your going to restore it as a runner make sure you seal the gearbox and belt covers as...

Re: Mid-Motor. Chaindrive. 4WD.

love seeing stuff like this, true genius. Its an inspiration to us all in the sense that even an average joe can imagine, plan, conceptualize and prototype a complex piece of machinery. It seems that the coming generations are so conditioned to instant gratification that they are not willing to even...

Re: Mid-Motor. Chaindrive. 4WD.

Thats a pretty wicked prototype, looks awesome. There is an optima build blog that the guy drove the rear on a chain and used a suspension pivot ball as a guide, came to mind as a way to keep chain off the motor or as a tensioner. heres the link
