Re: Jrx2 slipper set up help

I had exactly this problem and with the help of the guys on this Losi forum 'we' solved it. There are some early gearbox cases with a smaller hole for the top shaft to go through. Later gearbox cases had a bigger hole in them. It doesn't take much reaming to make the hole bigger and then you can sit...

Re: Finman's Losi JRX2

Looks good Rich. I am a long way through a similar project and I have experienced the long delivery times to the UK on just about every part needed! I haven't run my JRX yet and have been in debate about the wheels, I also have JCR B2/3 wheels on the car - they look great but they do make the rear v...

Re: JRX2 Shock Shafts

Thanks Guys.

I have updated my profile.

I saw the single front shock shaft on ebay but for the cost of postage I would need to be buying at least two! I will have a look at the other suggested sites now.

JRX2 Shock Shafts

Onto the re-build of my JRX2 shock absorbers and I thought I could clean up the shafts that came with the car. Unfortunately they have ridges in them. I've managed to get some original rear replacements but not fronts - are there any alternative front shock shafts that can be used? They are the orig...

Re: At last, I have a JRX2 to rebuild...

Very helpful Hondaman and LosiXXXkid, thanks. I did wonder if I would need to open up the hole in the gearbox. I'll have a goat it myself and see if I can do a reasonable job, otherwise I have to wait several weeks for a new case to arrive in the UK from the States - postage is very slow. I'll post ...

Re: At last, I have a JRX2 to rebuild...

Photos attached below. I should say I have now filed the boss on the slipper back plate to see if I can stop it touching the gearbox housing. The end result is no different except the backplate is now very close to the motor plate. I am thinking I should order another pinion shaft and backplate to s...

Re: At last, I have a JRX2 to rebuild...

In the UK we tend to run on outdoor AstroTurf tracks, on the rare occasions it's not raining the tracks are very high grip which increases the risk of spur gear issues - that's why I want to run a slipper.

LosiXXXkid - I'll post some photos later, once family duties are done!

Re: At last, I have a JRX2 to rebuild...

Hey LosiXXXkid. I have all the parts for my re-build including all the slipper parts. When I put the gearbox together I have two issues: 1. The replacement internal gearbox pinion gear is a fraction bigger than the standard gear so the gearbox has tight spots. I've done a bit of filing which has hel...

More questions...

Hi guys My Jrx2 build is coming on, but always seem to be searching for parts! The original short chassis is proving to be a big challenge but I will have to be patient. In the meantime please can you help me with a few question... - are there any 2.2 spoke wheels similar the original orange ones av...

Re: At last, I have a JRX2 to rebuild...

Thanks Chris and LosiXXkid. LosiXXkid - is it only those two parts I need? Do I need to buy slipper pads, springs etc, spur gear, gear cover separately or will the standard ones fit? Sorry, whilst I've had a JRX it was 25 years ago and these parts didn't exist, and weren't required for my Twister 17...

At last, I have a JRX2 to rebuild...

Nearly 7 weeks for a beat up JRX2 to be delivered to the UK but it's here, now the fun starts. Once I've striped it down I will know what parts I need however I already know I will need a slipper clutch. The right one seems to be the Hydra clutch but exactly which parts do I need? I assume I'll need...

Re: CLM's Losi Collection and rebuild thread

Your original trailing arm JRX looks great, I've been looking for one like that to buy for sometime and they are hard to find. The condition of yours looks really good. Have fund with it!
