Re: Yokomo YZ-870c Super Dogfighter

Hi Daddeo, The model in the photo is a Yokomo YZ10. This model shared an identical chassis with the YZ-870C but featured some cosmetic differences. The YZ10 was released for mainly the U.S. market whilst the YZ-870C was released in Japan and Europe. See this thread for a more descriptive analysis- h...

Re: What other 2WD do I need?

Kyosho Triumph. A favourite of mine with it's Graphite (or F.R.P. depending which country you bought the car) Upper and Lower Chassis and Twin Belt Drive. A nice car for any collection.

Re: Yokomo Off-Road Car Timeline

Hi Ed, The Yokomo you purchased is a 1994 Yokomo YZ10 Super Dogfighter, not the World Championship Special. This model was released after the 1993 W.C.S. and is a little different in design and specification. See bellow- Early 1994: Yokomo YZ10 Super Dog Fighter For the majority of people that misse...

Re: B2 Proline Tire PNs???

The front tires that came standard with the RC10B2 were Proline 'Front Edge' Tires XTR Compound. I cannot find a Proline PN for these tires but the Associated PN is 6878 (The Proline PN for the 'Front Edge 2' Tires is 8145). The rear tires were the same tires that came standard with the RC10 Worlds ...

Re: Yokomo Off-Road Car Timeline

Hi there, In response to your question 'Would like to know what problem on 2mm fine pitch belts' , the 2mm pitch belts as opposed to the 3mm pitch belts were quite tricky to set up. The front and rear belt had to be perfectly tensioned or they would strip very quickly. After every 4-5 minute run, th...

Re: Yokomo Off-Road Car Timeline

Hi Del, Bellow are some pictures of my YMP MX-4 Millenium Conversion Kit. These kits were hard to come by and were only released in Japan (200 limited edition pieces only). It took me a while to convince the previous owner to let go of this YMP kit and I am glad he did so although as Mcbain famously...

Re: Giving up the prize- Throwing out the baby w/ the bathwater

Hi Momo,

Is this Pro racer friend of yours Rick Vehlow or Derek Furatani?

I remember that they were the 2 leading Traxxas drivers (not sure what ever happened to Scott Montogomery) in the early to mid 1990's and both drove Yokomo's in the 4WD class.

Re: Yokomo MX-4 Shell

Hi Del,

The part numbers you are looking for are as follows-

ZC-110C: Yokomo Wing Mount Set

ZC-107W: Yokomo High Downforce Wing

In regard to the rear wing, the specification/design has changed slightly compared to the rear wing that was included in the MX-4 kits.

Re: yokomo which model?

On closer inspection, I am not sure if the shocks on this car are upgraded versions or if they are the originals with the black anodizing taken off the shock bodies.

Re: yokomo which model?

Hi Marui Hunter, The Yokomo in the photo is a 1994 YZ10. It looks to have a few upgraded parts from what I can tell from that angle such as a Worlds Specification Rear Shock Tower, Carbon Fibre Front Shock Tower (I can't tell which type from the angle shown), Spur Gear Adapter (possibly a front one-...

Re: -Yokomo YZ-10 "World Champion Special"-

Hi everyone, This particular Yokomo was sold under a few names (depending on what magazine you read, what the guy at the hobby shop called it etc.) but David is correct in saying that it is the World Champion Special . Other names that were given to the car were 'Mark Pavidis Edition (this as well a...

Re: -Yokomo YZ-10 "World Champion Special"-

Hey Asso_man, Great, great job on restoring your Yokomo. It came up real nice. The rims on your model were used exclusively on the 1994 YZ10 and the 1996 YZ10 Worlds Car. Most kits came with the black versions but some (mine included) came with white versions. Can't wait to see your model complete w...

Hi guys, It was not my intention to come across as aggresive... I apologise. I was replying to the comments Eau Rouge made towards my post - My information came from Associated. Where's yours from? Just a guess, but I'm leaning towards Associated having the most accurate timeline. But I could be wro...
