Hey! I got one of those N.I.B too

Do you have the version with FRP shock towers or plastic/kelron style?

Re: My Optima Mid Rebuild

Nice work! My favorite chassis :)

Do you get a matching offset with those ZX-5 wheels? I mean, are the wheels lined up front/rear?

That's a full set for 4WD with pre glued tires/rims (12mm hex). The offset is okay for a Mid but not 100% perfect.

Re: Kyosho Lazer ZX project

Looks nice and clean! You seem to have learned a lot about this car by restoring it. You are right about the maintenance-issues on Kyosho-models from this era. The Optima Mid is also unnecessary hard to work on. The diffs are built in so deeply into the gear boxes like they were not intended to get ...

I love it! Optima Mid models are my weakness and this sample looks sweeeet with the orange rims.

Re: Turbo Optima Mid SE-X

If you ever run the car I would swap the carbon motor plate for a light speed heat sink setup or a lazer finned motor plate. Cooling is a nightmare on the turbo mid and lazer chassis. Back in the days, yes. Today if you run a brushless 10.5T or more turns it should be no problem. I checked my motor...

Re: Fiber glass Mid for racing

Yes, it was hard to pass the triples nicely every lap. Next year I have to try other tires. Maybe I should listen more careful what the local racers say about tire choice  Next race on the agenda is in February! Luckily I don't have to travel that far... http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: Fiber glass Mid for racing

So what happened... It was super fun! In the end I took the 4th place out of 6 participants in 4WD. My first race ever and it was a great experience. The car held up well and the loose track surface acted as a slipper which saved my drive line a bit I believe. The tires I used was not optimal though...

Re: Optima mid mega build project started

Whats the best way to attach the belt covers? I dont have the correct foam tape. Silicone? Latex caulk? servo tape? CA? Team Associated 6727 is a good alternative. I've tried it on a Mid my self :) http://www.ebay.com/sch/Radio-Control-Control-Line-/2562/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=Team+Associated+67...
