Re: The V.K.R.I. (Vintage Kyosho Rebody Initiative)

Yeah, it wants white wheels, I think. Just need to decide which direction to go. Have a few ideas, but as always, very little money... Got it dirty already: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-CIm81k68ReI/VZSQHBNOuXI/AAAAAAAAFMU/wsr8wn6NI8A/s800/DSCF1730.JPG Love how it looks in motion, but it needs ...

Re: **Contest Questions/Comments**

I'd love to see an 80's electric monster truck contest at some point this year. Maybe a running action shot as a stipulation for entering. 8) I'm sure the thought is inspired by the sweet Blackfoot in this month's contest. As the owner of the "sweet Blackfoot" (thanks for that, btw), I mu...

Re: The V.K.R.I. (Vintage Kyosho Rebody Initiative)

So, many many months later... the Ultima has long since been sold, the Lambo body found its way to an RC10, and the Optima is in the closet in storage. Which leaves the Mid... https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-MdiS3-nqvWI/VY9JoidECGI/AAAAAAAAFLM/7ZwPmjx66hA/s800/DSCF1726.JPG Finally got it trimmed ...

I recently divested myself of all things Raider, otherwise I would have been able to help you out. A couple of them came from you originally anyway, I think... at one point I had five of the stupid things...

One of my all-time favorites... and my first "good" restoration: a Tamiya Blackfoot. Still has the stock MSC and RS540 motor. Updated a bit with full bearings, Traxxas shocks, Frog belly plate and rear arm mounts, and a few other reinforcements. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Qqc-Sc_on...

Re: Kyosho Alpine A310 1979..First Frame Rally in the world?

I've never seen an RC version of an Alpine A310 before... cool! It looks like it would be fun to drive. And if I'm not mistaken, that's the same gearbox as a Scorpion, which means you could use the new retrofit gearbox, which would let you run brushless in it... (See, this is why I don't even bother...

Re: To drift car or not ?

I've been wanting to try drifting for a while now myself. I'm not a huge fan of the style of car either, but I like the idea of a new driving challenge. I say go for it. You can always swap tires and gain back some traction later. Out of curiosity, what's your opinion of the quality of the 3Racing k...

Oh, no! "Relicing" has come to RC.

(look in any guitar forum for a myriad of strong opinions on the concept of relicing re-issue guitars...)

Re: The silliest RC project I have ever done

Thought you guys would get a kick out of it. We made sure to show people that she got in on her own (motivated by a cookie of course) so that no one would think she was being strapped in or anything. It took about a week of training her a little bit every night to get her to stay in there most of th...

The silliest RC project I have ever done

So here in Portland, we have this thing every year called the "Pug Crawl." It's a fundraiser for the Humane Society, where basically a bunch of pug owners get together and make their dogs wear goofy outfits. We all drink beer and eat burgers and just have a good time. This year, my wife ca...

Re: Craiglist rc parts/cars posts, hilarity thread

Hobby grade RC? Radio Shack? It's a mystery! craigslist-hobby-grade-surprise-rc-car.jpg At least the wheels move. Now I'm reassured that's a good buy! Oh, they don't turn; they just move. Not relative to the rest of the car. Just, when you pick it up and move it, the wheels move with it. They...
