Nice score. That's a great looking body. Also, are those rubber tires?

Re: The BMX (and other bikes) thread

Thanks for the info guys. :) I got the bike back together tonight, and took it for it's first test-toast. It actually rides pretty nice. I think I did about 6 or 7 kms. The only thing I didn't have total confidence in was the crank. If I stood up to accelerate as hard as I could, I heard a little bi...

Re: The BMX (and other bikes) thread

I picked up a couple of BMX's yesterday, but both need some TLC. (Like I need another project) One of them is a Haro Function F2, and the other is a bit more of a mystery. The only tag on it is on the frame under the seat, that says "AMS". It also says something about Vancouver... 'designe...

Re: Kyosho Rocky

Nice! I picked up a nice Rocky several months ago. Mine has no body either. One day I'll most likely pick up a TBG repro. If it's anything like the Optima series cars, you could run different sized pulleys front and rear for an 'overdrive' effect. Although, usually the larger tooth pulley goes on th...

Re: Optima Mid score +model ID help

I think I lucked out because it was poorly labeled. If it weren't for the 'Kyosho' part, there was nothing in the titled that would lead you there.
It does look nice. Even the tires look to be in great shape. I can't wait to get this one in my hands!

Optima Mid score +model ID help

I just won this tonight: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290595406641&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&autorefresh=true&autorefresh=true It was $50 more than my opening bid, but still a pretty decent price. Does anyone know what version of Mid this is? I thought it might h...

Re: Opening an indoor track.

it's not that it is not good for offroad, the problem is it will get too chewed up and fuzzy if you run offroad on it. After FastCats closed, but before they were out of the building, we set up an offroad track on the Ozite for us to use when we had some free time. It was pretty great to run offroad...

Re: Opening an indoor track.

Sorry, I just saw your questions now. The brown carpet is just an indoor/outdoor carpet. The jumps are pretty complex. There's a box in the centre of each jump, with various layers of plywood and Masonite. The Masonite is what gives the jumps their smooth transitions. Best tires hands down are Schum...

Re: tsan's new ride

I firmly believe mid motor is the setup to have. If you are having any issues with rear traction, check out this thread: http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75906 It is, as long as you are on a high-bite surface. (carpet, astro turf and possibly clay etc.) Definitely no issues with tractio...
