Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Those are pretty wild looking cars. I've never raced one, (or even seen one raced for that matter) but from what I hear, they are notoriously hard to get to run right. (or even stay in one piece) But when they do run right, apparently they're unstoppable.

Re: TURBO MID SE with pics
Nice! On my wish list, I think one of the ZX's is a little higher up the list than an Optima Mid. (but just barely)jordon0 wrote:also got my little lad a lazer zx-r needs some bits but got it at a bargin price!!

The Mid's looking pretty good too, btw.

Re: found myself an Ultima :D
Basically, I'm going to clean it up, repair the busted bits, and get it up and running. I don't really plan on running it (or any of my vintage stuff) too much. 99.9% of my RCing is racing, so I don't do any 'bashing' or anything like that. However, If we can ever put together a vintage buggy class ...

Sweet! After about 6 months of searching, I finally found my Ultima! LeMans 240st in SC10
I stumbled across this video by accident this morning:

It's an SC10 running an old LeMans 240st, with lipo power.
Damn, that's pretty quick!

My Turbo Optima
I've never posted pics of my Turbo Optima on this forum, so I thought I would. (these pics are from before I rebuilt/cleaned it up) I picked this up locally for a very good price in the beginning of this years summer. I've only run it once, but it runs very well. Enjoy. :) http://i374.photobucket.co...

Thanks for the pics! It took me a minute to wrap my head around what I was looking at here: Steering servo + speed control installed *on* speed-control servo... http://www.cool.per.sg/external_links/luminous/luminous_05.jpg I thought the steering servo was under the crank/servo-saver thingie, and th...

Re: neighbour killed my boomerang ! The resurrection
Not to highjack your Boomerang-mod thread, (which is very cool , btw) I tried to find some sort of official number of units sold on GH/HS etc... all I've come across so far are those little 'mini 4WDs': Dec 1995: Total Sales of Mini 4WD exceeds 100 million units. I think something like the grasshopp...

Re: Crazy Bigwig project
Ha! I called him about the Optimas a week or 2 ago... he wanted $300 for one of them, and $500 for the other. I almost choked when I heard the $500 price. He kept saying they had the top of the line electronics in them. Again, it's 1980's electronics. They haven't been top of the line for quite some...

Re: Boomerang Dual Front Suspension Mods
That looks cool... very modern. I like the look of yours over the tamiya mod. I agree about the ride height being too high, though. It looks like you could make a taller (carbon fiber?) shock tower, but you'd lose that 'low profile' look you mentioned you were after.
