Re: new Procat sideplates?
don't mean to pile on, but he's right, you will have to pre-tap the holes. it will also be alot heavier, and maybe not as rigid, stainless is kinda soft compared to a tempered aluminum. OK so should it be some kind of carbon steel? I'll get the metal fab guy to advise. The question I have is what's...

Re: new Procat sideplates?
I'm not worried about the weight as the new Li-Fe and Li-Po batteries are more than 100g lighter. I thought for the same thickness of metal steel would be stronger i.e. less likely to deform in an impact. My aluminium plates are a bit bent and dented. Then again perhaps it won't make that much diffe...

new Procat sideplates?
I'm looking at getting some new Procat sideplates laser cut out of 1.5mm stainless steel. I'll end up with quite a few spares so I wanted to guage interest and find out who would also want some. The cost per pair might be about £13 plus postage depending on quantities. Please PM or email me. These a...

sheet metal cutting
Does anyone know how I would go about getting some new gearbox sideplates cut from aluminium or steel? I don't have the drawings (would Schumacher have them on file?) but I do have some used plates which could be used as templates. Does anyone have any experience of this? http://i103.photobucket.com...

Re: Procat rebuilt for Li-Fe batteries
Done a few modifications after racing the Procat a few times.
Full details on Oople (sorry RC10talk!) but here's some photos.

Cool, let me know if you want me to sell it or trade for the XLS bumper. Can you send me a photo as well when you have time? Luke

Cat XLS bumper
Does anyone have a Procat bumper to swap for this XLS bumper? As you can see, two lexan strips have been glued to give the correct spacing between the lower belt cover and bumper. The bumper itself is intact. The quickest way to contact me luke_kasza@hotmail.com http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m1...

Re: NIP Schumacher CAT XLS
Beautiful build! I think the XLS is probably one of the top 3 best looking RC shells ever. Will you paint it? I'm going to convert one of my Procats to XLS but probably wont't get round to it until next summer!

Re: Buds orange CAT belt
The Bosscat rear pro-diff fits the Procat and is the best diff - smoother than the MMS nylon diff plus it's sealed. Will you run the heavy duty 7mm belts in the rear? I've been using the 5mm ones and havn't slipped yet. Is it worth getting a set of 7mm belts? I assume these can handle more power.

Re: Buds orange CAT belt
The orange belt seems a bit longer so I had to move the front gearbox forward a little more. Got some 1.5mm thick plastic off eBay and cut some spacers.
