Re: Optima Mid RERE

The 2 wings are because they are hard plastic like the re-release Scorpion and Javelin wings. The front arms are slightly different than the Optima and Turbo Optima ones due to the stabilizer mounting differently. I want to see more detail on the belt tensioner.

Re: Anyone got a Mini Z Optima?

Regarding the turning radius, the steering limits can be adjusted from the transmitter. You should be able to set it too tight... So can the throttle, reverse, neutral etc, and the only gripe I have with it is it can get confused, to the point where reverse doesn't work, and you have to reset it - t...

Re: Kyosho re releases

They do look the same; have also seen links for them for sale on rcmart - along with carbon fiber parts. I could be wrong though, I couldn't believe for example that marwan and Fernando both independently reproduced the optima tires at the same time.

Re: Optima is back!!

Kyosho America offers free shipping deals every so often, at least I think I remember getting emails from them to that effect. I've never needed anything at those times- it's usually like a holiday or something.

Nice to see people put the wheels on backwards then, too.

Re: Optima is back!!

I painted mine and put the stickers on last night. It is a little tricky and a spray bottle and soap help to reposition. I had no air bubbles last night but some developed overnight. It looks good though. The yellow at the back was the trickiest. I used white spray plasti-dip so I can peel it all of...

Re: Optima is back!!

I wonder if an Optima Pro radio plate would help; the battery is farther forward. Lipo is lighter than the old batteries and that's probably hurting too. The rear yellow section is about 8 different stickers alone. The blue sides are like 5 per side. Lots-O-Stickers. But, it looks great when finishe...

Re: Optima vs Turbo Optima differences

I had a later optima and they had moved the resistors to the turbo location at the back. I think it also had the taller shock towers, can't be certain but I never throw anything away and I don't have short ones :)

Re: Optima is back!!

Okay I'm going to admit my ignorance here. I know nothing about this car but it certainly looks very interesting. It looks like its part Hot Shot - and the aluminum bits obviously would have been very high tech back in the day. 4WD buggies weren't exactly common place either, right? So AE didn't ha...

Re: Turbo Optima Mid SE Battery Question

I haven't timed it. Something usually breaks or comes lose on my optima runner before I use a whole pack. My scorpion on 17.5t brushless just keeps going. Just bashing around the park with my boys but seems longer than 15 minutes. Not all full speed. I also got a charging sack and an alarm - little ...

Re: Turbo Optima Mid SE Battery Question

I run a Venom 15085, which is 20c / 4000 mah and I have run it with a lemans 240st. I am definitely no expert in lipo but the major draw for me for that specific model venom pack is it fits in optimas, mids, etc without modification as it is a stick pack with rounded profile, and no longer than the ...

Re: Optima is back!!

I've got a re-release Optima coming, but the last r/c car I owned was the original Optima. Things have changed a bit! So while my Optima will likely be a static model I want to build it so its ready to run. So the question is...what is the recommended modern running gear? Will the transmission hand...
