I hope so. I am really stoked about this one!
Oh yeah, there's a hole in the roof

Re: Is this worth saving?
I think i would use styrene plastic stock attached with model cement to rebuild the general shape. I might drill a very small hole in the broken edge with a pin vise to insert a metal pin of some kind for strength. After the basic shape is there I would use auto body spot putty to fill holes then sa...

Re: My Pro-X project
Yep, you did see it on Ebay. :) There was another thread started on here in the Ebay thread called "get it quick"... so I did. I guess one has to wonder what goes through people's minds when they decide that a very heavy, quickly applied, zero prep paint job on top of existing dirt is an i...

I really should stay on task and off Ebag
Just picked this Optima Mid up. I spent too much but what the hell, it's Christmas and I've always wanted one of these babies. It looks OK to me but can anyone see any issues or missing stuff from the bad pictures? (I know it's got a giant hole in the roof..

Re: Anyone polish a gold tub?
Don't use a wire wheel! It will put a lot of hard to remove scratches in the aluminum and make it bumpy. (Ask how I know) You can use fine grade sandpaper 400 progressing up to 12000 or so to wet sand, then use a purpose made white buffing wheel on a dremel or your grinder with polishing compound. F...

My Pro-X project
As you may know, this is the buggy that i got for a $35 bin a few weeks ago. I have disassembled it for cleaning and have been trying to remove the stubborn blue metallic paint overspray from literally everything! I made a simple repair on the front battery hold down attach points by putting a long ...

The Cat Project
I picked this up several months ago but i haven't started doing anything with it yet due to a multitude of other projects bot RC and non-RC related. I have some great ideas though! I like this car since it was the first Traxxas buggy and came RTR, a new concept back then. It's a cross between a toy ...

Is this worth saving?
This Blackfoot body has seen better days. There were/are many layers of paint, the front corners both need repair and the front of the hood has a warp or melty spot. It will be a real challenge to bring it to a presentable state. Would you tackle it?

Re: A few of my Tamiya projects
I have been busy stripping paint, removing old stickers, etc from some of my recent acquisitions. The Blackfoot is getting close, just a few really stubborn parts left before I can start on the paint. Since I have to paint outside it'll be spring before I can though. The blue Frog body isn't t...

My work area is a spare bedroom. Not really convenient for some things like heavy cleaning but it's warm and dry. I think I'm about at critical mass!

Re: Anyone polish a gold tub?
I polished this one. I had quite a hard time getting the anodizing out of the corners and I will probably take another shot at it since I've learned some things since then. The big trouble with removing the anodizing is that the bare aluminum is quite soft and easily scratched. The best way to get a...

Re: New pile o' junk auction win
LOL, so you were the one! Still, I think it was a great deal. What i can't use or identify will eventually go into my junk box and find it's way to the next lucky bidder. I now have one original white front wheel to go with the five original rears that I've managed to collect so far. :) The stealth-...

New pile o' junk auction win
Got all this swag for 20 bucks! I don't know what some of it is but it is cool! Anyone recognize the silver shocks? Is that a stealth tranny? I pretty much can tell all the original RC10 stuff which was what I was mainly after. Battery died. I can add better pics later...
