Re: Ye' old and golden Optima...
I really like the body in the first couple of pics. The gold really looks good as one paint with the black, red, yellow, and white, but not if it was all gold, then it would look like a gold brick

Re: Optima Back Sway Bar and Front Bumper Support - Optional
I like it. I wish there were a bumper that was a direct fit (I can ream the holes, but the sawing would be a pain).

Re: MMV Challenger: Turbo Optima build - Project Barney
Ha, no problem. I like the purple, so I may put them on my runner. My college colors were purple and white.

Re: MMV Challenger: Turbo Optima build - Project Barney
Coelacanth, I have two vintage purple shocks (see this pic). http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=22557 They are in great shape and they were on an Optima. They are actually the same length as front golds. I figured out that they are from a Composite Craft Lynx II. Pm me an offer if you ...

Re: Optima Back Sway Bar and Front Bumper Support - Optional
Does anyone have a picture of an Optima that has been cut and a new bumper added? Does it look like a Frankenstein car?

Re: Optima Back Sway Bar and Front Bumper Support - Optional
Coelecanth,
I know, that front bumper support still confounds me . I think I'll stick with no back sway-bars. I have always liked the ease of getting to the motor/pinion with the Optima and the sway-bars.

Optima Back Sway Bar and Front Bumper Support - Optional?
I am wondering if it really hurts to go without two parts on the Optima: 1) The back sway bar: I don't like the way it blocks the motor case and makes it a pain to access the motor and pinion. Does this part really steady the car that much? 2) The very front collar or bumper support. I have seen the...

Parts to Identify 2
A few more parts to identify:
Is the A+L steering for the Ultima, Optima, or Optima Mid?
Also, the gear and belt were on an Optima parts car, but what type is and was it really for the Optima?
Thanks!
RG

Rock Crawler 1.9" on Optima?
There are so many 1.9'' diameter tires for the mini (1/18th) scale rock crawlers. Do any of these fit the standard Optima rim (also 1.9")?

I always wondered about that because the picture makes it looks like you just pop off the yellow rings and there you go.

Vintage Dust Buster Power!
Admit it, how many of you took apart a dust buster and put the motor in one of your rc cars? I know my friend and I did when we were teens and it worked fine in his Fox. I believe they were good old 540 motors, but the modern dust busters don't sound the same, so I assume they no longer use those mo...

Re: Optima 'HARDENED' final pinion gear.
Here are two pinions I have. The one on the left is from a stock Optima parts car. The one on the right is from a stock Optima that had the belt drive and other add-ons (so a hard final pinion would be more possible). They seem different looking to me, is the one on the right a hard final pinion? If...

Re: Help me identify Optima parts
It's great how everyone knows these parts, thanks. Yes, the purple shocks are short; they are the exact same length as the stock red fronts. I figured the chassis was for oval racing. There is a hobby shop here and the guy turns his covered deck into a concrete oval track some times, so that may be ...
