Re: Lonestar's Fox Runner :)

Coelacanth, I agree totally. I have always much preferred Kyoshos. To me they make Tamiya cars look like toys. But, something about the Fox puts it into the racer category in my mind. I like them with a few hop-ups. I'm slowly restoring a Fox right now, it's a fun build.

Re: Curious about modding Tamiyas

So, what would you all recommend for a motor for a Fox runner? It has stock gearing except for a steel pinion.

That 2.4 stick radio is really nice, any reviews anywhere? Thanks for the link.

Re: Gold Shocks: Kyosho or Duratrax???

This thread and the last picture helped me distinguish two Duratrax golds that I had in with a a bunch of Kyosho ones. Now, I need to put two of the Kyosho golds back together. What is the best way to get that little clip back on? It's the last thing to put on over the o-rings. Thanks for the help.

Re: Gold celebration chassis set....

That makes sense. I never saw a Gold Optima in the box for sale, but the gold kit was available from Tower for several years.

Re: Gold celebration chassis set....

So, any progress on the mystery? I'm restoring an Optima and I have these parts that I took off a runner. I have the extra parts discussed (see picture). So, do the extra parts mean the parts didn't come from the add-on gold kit, but from the Gold Optima?

Re: Vintage R/C t-shirt thread

So, how many of you can still fit into your shirts? I know my mid-80s shirts would be a tad small :-).

Re: First time Ultima owner

Much of the fun of this hobby comes in restoring. It's fun to figure out what pieces you have, and then whether you should keep it or go for something better: usually vintage stock, vintage upgrade, or a modern part that fits. Basket cases are the best, but you will NOT make money and a near shelf q...

Yes, that answers my question, thanks! That's what I thought, but I then I thought maybe the long was one for a Lazer. Take care.

Optima Belt Question: 240 vs 260

I have two belts that say 240XL and one that is longer that says 260XL. They are all in great shape, so I want to use them. Are the 240XLs for the Optima Mid? Would they fit an Optima converted to belt? What is the 260XL for? Thanks

Thanks guys. I have some platinum shocks that I want to clean up and switch on it. I think they will look great with the silver, black, and green.

Re: Ultima runner

Update: I ran it for awhile and now it's a shelf queen. New wing, body, and a few newer parts. See pics.

The top plate is a JG fiberglass one that I dyed black, I like the way it turned out.
