Re: MX4 value?

So, just to play devils advocate here, next time I want to sell something and I don't know what it is worth, I should ask what I should pay for a similar item. Then I can list it for the amount the forum recommends I pay for said item  . -J

Re: Diff balls melting into spur

If the drive rings are not pinned on the 6 gear, they can slip on the aluminum drive hub and generate a ton of heat in a short period of time. BITD, the rings were glued on. Unfortunately this is more a band-aid than a real fix. I think the tranny could handle that amount of power, but it would need...

Re: Carbon fiber Chassis Experiment

I did this a couple of years ago. 25* blank buck, with upturned sides for fore-aft rigidity. Pulled a FG version as a test. Never got around to the CF versions tho. Life, adn too many other projects got the best of me  . One day I will get it done however.

Re: The Ultima RB/ST Racing Sports/Type-R Evo (II) Project

I have a near new type R on the shelf, with the EVO body. I may also have one or more of those spurs you are talking about. I Know I had them, but may have sold them recently in a big lot of parts. I will look this weekend and see what I can find. -J

Re: Kyosho Pro - XRT race reports?

I remember at the 1993 worlds standing with a very famous company owner discussing the Kyosho car (it was relatively new at the time). We chuckled as he commented that they (not Kyosho) had learned that a tranny layout like that one wasn't any good years ago. He couldn't believe that Kyosho was rele...

Re: New to me Cougar 2 Works

Well, they don't really. However the diameter works, and the threads are close enough. The cartrages (plastic ones) will cross thread right in. I used them on all my cars for years. The factory didn't like it -but along with easier maintenance, also offered more droop range. -Jeff

Re: New to me Cougar 2 Works

Time... . Use Losi shock cartages. They will require a few spacers to make the shocks the same length as stock, but well worth the trouble. -Jeff

I would agree The biggest change came from the B.B. springs. I am not 100% sold on the B.B. shocks tho.-J

Re: Current Team Car racer...

Sure, I will post a couple of body on pics. Just remember that is 3 years worth of running . And yes the camber link (rear) looks short, But is nearly the same length as the arm, so camber progression is similar to modern cars. You may have noticed the "middle" hole in the rear bulkhe...

Re: Current Team Car racer...

I have an AE setup sheet from their web site. Maybe someone here can download make it editable. I also think we should have a folder for vintage racing setup sheets. It would make it much easier to share. Say a folder for setups in each of the sections. E.G. RC10, Kyosho, Schumacher, Traxxas, Losi, ...

Current Team Car racer...

Well, I have had a few requests to post current pics and setup of my current team car platform. It is hard to believe that I first built it 3 years ago. It has gone through some revisions and fine tuning however. Enjoy -Jeff.
