Re: Found another BossCat
He wanted $61 usd shipped. I gave him $65 USD to help with Pay Pal fees. This means I can finish the build that has been in a box for some time now. Funny though, as the body seems very familiar to me. I think it may be one of my good friends cars from BITD.

Re: Remove RIT die
Yeah you are pretty much screwed if the parts have been dyed. One thing to note however is that Delrin (acetal) is quite dyeable. I have used it for nearly 25 years, and dyed it on many occasions. Maybe you had something else (jwscab) you mistook for Delrin?

The layshaft is an early version. Originally they were co-molded, later the gear became removable. -j

Re: 3d printed 4-10
Well, I would stay away from trailing assemblies for the previously mentioned reasons. However the CVD portion of the axle assy. does not need to be inline. It will work if it is off-line as well. However, I would put the CVD deeper into the hub assy, rather than closer to the center of the chassis....

Re: running my Cougar 2
The nominal run voltage for a LiPo pack is about a volt higher than for a 6 cell NiCd or NiMh pack. Roughly equivelent to an extra cell. The 7.4v rating on a LiPo pack is its discharged voltage. -J

I know Charlie pretty well. I would be pretty funny if we all asked him the same question for several weeks. Or even a different silly question every day .

Re: Diff balls melting into spur
Yeah, the rings are caused by the balls rolling (and slipping). The 6 gear tranny has a differential, not a slipper. This means that it is not meant to slip, but meant only to offer differential action. The key will be proper build and maintenance. Adjusted and lubed properly I have no doubt that th...
