Re: Looking for cohesive lists of 10 items to do with Ontari

How about Lord of the Rings characters? Frodo, Bilbo, Gimli, Samwise, Arwen, Eowyn, Galadriel, Merry, Pippin, etc...I think most of those names wouldn't have to be gender-specific. :) That's a good one for a future litter! My son wants to do a Star Wars one at some point too. This is our second fos...

Re: Looking for cohesive lists of 10 items to do with Ontari

FYI there are plenty of rats in NYC. No need to import Canadian rats. Damn, nothing is made in the USA anymore. Imho a face worth saving  : http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff234/MaineRatRescue/2010%20Foster%20Families/Maighen%20Rochester%20NH/Canada%20Rats%202012/IMG_0435.jpg Still thinkin...

Looking for cohesive lists of 10 items to do with Ontario

Ok, my family fosters pet rats. The group we work with rescued about 100 rats from 2 situations in Canada (hoarding & feeders), and the mommas were all given province names to honor their Canadian lineage. The mother of our foster clan is Ontario (we've chosen Tari for short), and we have 10 bab...

Re: my birthday present to my oldest daughter!

That looks great! You have a very lucky daughter. My daughter rebuilt my original Grasshopper just before she turned 7. That's it on the right: http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s94/civilguy/Family.jpg From parts I built my son's Monster McQueen that same winter for his 5th birthday: http://i150.ph...

Re: Got a line on a used original Hot Shot

Hotshot is 1/10 scale and only shares a similar chassis with the Supershot and Hotshot II. I believe future buggys reused the drivetrain and similar (but not exact) arms, etc like the Boomerang, Super Sabre and BigWig. They then completely changed up their 4wd with the Thundershot, Thunder Dragon, e...

Re: April fools

That is awesome- please share the reaction. Does one of them have a ipod or something they can film it on? This morning in my inbox was our 4-week schedule from the office manager... it typically has the next twenty work days filled in with projects for about 25 people. It just said "offi...

Re: Got a line on a used original Hot Shot

You can get the re-re kit for about $200 & it will have all the 'fixes' that you'd want to do to an original. I don't think it comes with bearings, but they are standard Tamiya 5x11 and 5x8 (bext to buy them in larger lots-- I have done a couple 50pc orders as we have Hornet, Lunchbox, Frog, Hot...

Re: Palitoy Death Star Playset Replica

Here's a question for you - I've got a vintage X wing, Tie Fighter and Snow Speeder. Problem is that they are falling apart and missing a few pieces as well as have some peeling decals. Do you know of anywhere to get replacements? Hoping since you found this you might know off hand That same link p...

Re: Palitoy Death Star Playset Replica

This US version? :) sw-3.jpg My kids have had my SW collection for years. It mostly sits now and will likely be boxed up for their kids pretty soon. We just were watching ESB on tv this evening. I have the playsets that came with the cardboard backgrounds and luckily they mostly survived. I have a c...

Re: Check out my new "ride"

Just an update... we found a nice '08 Equinox LT with the 3.4 to replace our aging minivan. The wife is very happy with it- she liked the color and it has a sunroof & remote starter (that's all it took). This is one of the dealers pics: equinox1.jpg It's got 53k (average) but was put in s...

Re: Request for rule change.

I will add a warning in my FS thread title that states "NO pics", so as not to waste people's valuable time while they peruse a forum about toy cars.

EDIT: Done! 8)

I would agree, but I just got home from a 12hr day with a 75 mile ride on either end of it... I can wait on selling the RC stuff. ;)

Re: Request for rule change.

I had/have a couple items listed with no pictures- mostly NIB stuff. Not sure why you'd need a picture of a NIB 6593 graphite tranmission brace. I have a 'phone'-style cell phone, that dials people's phone numbers, so I actually do have to get out a digital camera, snap the pictures, hook it up to a...

Re: MCE 1000

I don't think Mike has posted in a while, but it's still a beautiful car. I wonder if he ever fired it up.
I always love the polished chassis on a 'restored' car... the kits never looked that shiny when they were brand new!
