Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll keep an eye out for engine deals and see what I can do.
In my searching I did come across some parts (mainly a motor mount) to convert to electric so i may have a look into that as well.

I’m not sure why that part description list it as an SG shaft. It looks like a standard crank to me, unless that glare is hiding the extra bit passed the threads I can’t see. Basically any engine with a standard crank should work. You can just trim the crank with a dremel if needed from there. I do...

Does your truck require a short crankshaft like the GT? To be honest, I'm not sure but I found this as the part listed for the engine LOSR6593 P/S SG Crankshaft: Mach 15RE.
