Re: Full Spike tyres for Nitro 10?

I'm confused, is it a buggy or a truck ? I've assumed truck, as I saw yellow wheels in one of the photos....  Alex Well, to be perfectly honest, I'm confused about that too! Got asked similar question today. I dunno - what's the difference....? :? If I put a 911 bodyshell on it, does ...

Re: Full Spike tyres for Nitro 10?

Colin, you'll need Schumacher truck wheels to match the 'castle' hub fitment that Schumacher use... either that, or go the route of grabbing hex adaptors from Shapeways (to run 12mm hex wheels), or the Yokomo alloy adapters that pop up from time to time (although, you may struggle to find either th...

HSN tuning...?

Carb re-seated this morning, and it's now holding the prime. After re-reading (properly...!) the various guides on tuning, it turns out I need to start with the HSN , not the LSN as I'd been fiddling with. ("Setting it up at idle, that'll be the LSN" I thought. Intuitively I thought, but w...

Yep - they're the ones I was looking at.

Re: Full Spike tyres for Nitro 10?

As you are talking about 15x20 tyres I assume you have the buggy version, with the buggy wheels. The 20x15, 3x20, 8x10 were the spike layout on the tyres, not the tyre size. Buggy tyres are standard sizes, either 2" diameter for really old tyres or 2.2" diameter for everything after the e...

Nitro10 mk3 engine removal - here's some info/tips

I've just whipped the Leo 12 engine out of mine. From the look of the instructions [thanks to Incredible_Serious], the whole engine plate needed to be removed. This was ok - I removed the tank, and the plate fixings, and removed the four screws which hold the plate and the transmission. What I found...

Full Spike tyres for Nitro 10?

Am trying to look into changing the standard 2.2" 'mini spike' tyres on my Nitro 10 Mk3 for full spike. There's plenty of places to get tyres and inserts, but I'm unclear on what I'm going to need for wheels. I know how real tyres are sized (width and 'aspect ratio') - is it the same for RC car...

Yeah, looks like more of a scarf than an O-ring!

Edit: Might try to get it at least starting & idling reliably on the bench whilst it's out.

Re: Carb problems? (Nitro 10)

I'm suspecting the carb isn't seated properly. Gonna be a pain to get it out/in though... might get to the bolt if I remove the silencer and have a good spanner, otherwise going to have to remove engine plate :(

Re: Carb problems? (Nitro 10)

Having said that, I do have a NIB Leo 12.... although it appears slightly different to yours Colin - red head, tuned pipe, and no pullstart. These pictures may help, or may not.... let's see. Well the head of your LSN is standing proud like mine is - so that helps. It appears to be same carb, thoug...

Re: Carb problems? (Nitro 10)

If you blow in the exhaust pressure line with the throttle fully open does the fuel flow freely without much effort? Does the engine ever hydrolock by way of too much fuel in the engine? When it does run does it sound like it's running out of fuel or choking on too much fuel? Fuel shouldn't go from...

Re: Carb problems? (Nitro 10)

The orange glow sounds about right, but the brighter the better. If the plug was bad it would barely glow, if at all. As for priming, you can put your finger over the exhaust tip and pull the pull-string a few times. This will help pressurize the tank and push fuel through the line to the carb. Mig...

Re: Carb problems? (Nitro 10)

Will it stay running and run normal with the igniter attached? If so the carb isn't blocked as the engine is getting sufficient fuel to run. If the fuel mixture is too rich it can also cause the engine to stall when the igniter is removed. The igniter keeps the plug glowing hot enough to burn the r...
