Re: How to clean/refurbish steel ball studs?
Replace them. The ones from Custom Works are nice, and they retain the 4-40 thread. Are you referring to these https://www.customworksrc.com/product/short-hex-drive-ball-stud/ if they fit the stock ball cups I may keep a set in my kit for spares For now I'm going to keep the stock studs. They have ...

Re: More AE parts being discontinued
the shock shafts are 3mm in the old and the new v2 shocks end that fit the new v2 shocks like https://www.amainhobbies.com/team-associated-rear-shock-nylon-ball-end-2-asc7660/p21068 The old shock shafts are actually 0.125", with 4-40 threads. They are close enough that the same o rings can be ...

Re: Radio opinions
I guess I will be the dissenting opinion. I had some of the hobbyking brand radio transmitters and switched Spektrum. I spent about $120 on the spektrum radio and haven't had any issues in the 6 years I have had it. The cheaper transmitter was nice a, but it just fell apart. I got a replacement of a...

Re: More AE parts being discontinued
If you don't need a "correct" end, just about any short 3mm end will work. You may need some spacers or shims on some front arms. Thanks! That's piece I was missing. I am gonna order a 91469 set and hope for the best. the shock shafts are 3mm in the old and the new v2 shocks end that fit ...

Re: How to clean/refurbish steel ball studs?
Seems like putting them in a drill is the way to go. I 'll avoid the sand paper and go for my brass wire wheel and some polish.
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

Re: How to clean/refurbish steel ball studs?
Soak them in simple green full strength for a few days. Then stick them in a drill and use green scotchbrite on them. Grab them by the threads polish, then grab them by the balls and polish. If they are not rustproof enough for you, drop them into some sort of phosphoric acid, Krud kutter etc. Will...

Startin the run what ya brung build of a Team Car
Thanks to a whole lot of kind assistance from member here past and present I am ready to start my team car build. I'm going a different way from most builds as I am going as modern as you can get without making a new car. I'm planning on taking this racing with my family for the summer in the novice...

How to clean/refurbish steel ball studs?
I am at the cleaning part of my build and I am down to working on the steel. Right now I have all of the steel parts sitting in a small amount of automotive degreaser. Is there some kind of short cut for cleaning and polishing ball studs? Right now my plan is to either 1) pretend they are fine after...

Re: Ball cups for the edinger?
These look identical to the ones from my much later team car. I never noticed it bit the plastic is weird on them compared to the other parts, more fragile than the nylon of other parts on the car.rctenracer wrote: ↑Sat Mar 03, 2012 10:42 am Just want to confirm if these are early ball cups for the edinger.

Do I need different tired lengths with the rpm long cups
I’ve been reading through the forum history on this and I keep seeing reference to tie-rod length and the rpm long cups. I’ve already purchased the long cups in white for my rc10 team car build and I am going to to purchase the Lunsford worlds kit tie-rods. Can I just thread them deep, or will the l...

Re: Lunsford Punisher Turnbuckles RC10T
Make sure to try direct, by calling or emailing. You might find better pricing that what you see advertised. Not sure if they have fixed map pricing or not. Thanks for the tip. The sets of pins are quite competitive in price, but I’ll need a discount on some loose pins since there is no rc 10t set.

Re: Lunsford Punisher Turnbuckles RC10T
In performance on the track the Lunsford are probably no different at all but they are made from grade 5 ti, made in the USA, as well as lifetime guaranteed. Can you tell by driving the car they are better? No. But they are, at least IMO, much better. Thanks. Those are solid reasons. The price I fo...
