Check this out I got it today in the mail...Some guy said he had some old RC he wanted to get rid of for $20 and I happily volunteered to give it a new home...I dont really know anything about these cars...Are the collectible? what are they worth/selling for now days? about how old is this car?

They run pretty well too: Isaw it's twin brother the shogun at the last vintage meet here. (no jumps on the track though)

not much info period on the net or on this forum...lol well it seems like a sweet car...only it has a broken front diff and is missing the front dog bones...any ideas where to get parts?

middle-eighties I think.
diff: ebay,
dogbones: measure them up in mm: diameter of the ball-end, diameter of crosspin distance from crospin center to cross-pin center. I'll se if I have a suggestion or part to offer from another car.
(as you don't have them: try fitting the rear ones on the front and take the dimesions of them as well as you can. If they don't fit properly lengthwise , take your best guess)

The Ninja's are great cars, I'm in the middle of rebuiding mine and luckily I have a new body and wing for it

I've decided not to paint it black, but to make it look like the prototype car (see attached picture).

I found the pic somewhere on the internet a while ago. I remember there was an article in one of the UK mags, either RRC or RCMC (can't remember which) in early 86 which showed this picture and a couple of others and they just mentioned that it was Marui's new prototype 4wd.

It's protoype name (MX486i) probably has soemthing to do with the date (4/86) much like Yokomo's 834B and 870C cars - just a guess.

I really like the look of the prototype - just need to find someone who can make up the stripe decals!

Why don't you try painting these stripes instead? As it was a proto type the stripes you see in the pic were probably painted also.

still it would be easier and cheaper to find someone to paint this for you than to get the decals.
It's pretty tough to make the decals on a flat sheet, shaped so they they will appear straight on the curved body.
bit of trial and error which could end up costing a lot.
