Re: HPI Pro Control ESC

I was digging through my R/C stuff and found instructions for the Pro Control. A few creases but still fairly intact.

HPI Universals?

Does anyone know if these are HPI #6207 Universals for the RC10T and RC10GT? The instruction sheet doesn’t have a part number on it.

Re: What Speed Controllers Were Available Circa 1980?

In the late 1970’s Electro Craft had an ESC that gained popularity at the NORCAL 1/12 electric racing series in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. I think Electro Craft was based nearby in San Jose. They had a fast sponsored driver named Steve Betts. As I recall they had some overheating and ...

Re: - Early RC12i -

The early 12i cars did have the black kydex strip glued to the chassis. I think it was more of a vibration damper than a stiffener. Nice find!

It needs a classic 80's multi colored stripe paint job. You can also paint the wheels to match one of the stripes. Or add BBS covers etc.

Re: The Evolution of RC Batteries - Digital Magazine Article

Fun article Jeff. Going way back... When I started in 1978 most people were using 1000mah GE Ni-Cd's or Saft. The GE's had a green shrink wrap on the individual cells, or white shrink on 3-cell sticks. The Saft sticks were white also. Around 1979 the Sanyo 1200 SC cells came out with the yellow/red ...

Re: Early Associated & Mike Reedy Modified Motors

The blue endbell motors are the earliest. Translucent, black etc. endbells came out after the blue. But Reedy continued to use blue endbells until the Yokomo-based motors came out in 1982, so you have to look at the labels to try to figure out the age of the motor. The earliest Reedy motors are the ...

[Catalog] HPI Catalog 1994

Early HPI USA catalog, I'm not completely sure this is from 1994, it might be early 1995. Later in 1995 there was the first HPI catalog in color.
