Re: RC10 40th Anniversary tracking thread

It's probably just me but I can't imagine buying a limited edition anniversary kit like this and not cracking it open to inspect the contents. :D For those who can resist the temptation, you have a lot more self-control than me. My favorite RC10 video so far: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EzS...

Re: RC12L and RC10L aftermarket axles and spur

Just to confirm, this is an 1/4 x 3/8 x 1/8 (R168ZZ) non-flanged bearing?

Thanks!

RC12L and RC10L aftermarket axles and spur

Greetings, I have a few aftermarket pan axles that do not have the "seat" for the spur gear. Is there some kind of spacer that should be used to center it on the axle? The OEM ones have the area where the spur seats in the center. All these axles use standard diff rings, but do not have th...

Re: 6 gear outdrive distorting bearings on one side?

@juicedcoupe

I understand what you are saying. With just a race, for the inner outdrive, non-flanged bearing, it would just act like a spacer for the outer flanged one.

...and the large stealth bearing fits right into an unmolested 6 gear case?

Thanks!

Re: 6 gear outdrive distorting bearings on one side?

Thanks all. I was able to resolve this with the help of the old bushing and Dremel tool. With a Sharpie, I drew a black line all the way around the bushing and inserted it into the outdrive. I was able to see where it was binding the bearing. Visually, I could not see it. It was only the non-flanged...

6 gear outdrive distorting bearings on one side?

Hey All, I spent a lot of time replacing bushings for bearings in a 6 gear. On one of the out drives, its motion springs back in the other direction when moving it slowly. I tried 2 sets of bearings, with the same outcome. The out drive is clean as a whistle. The other out drive spins freely with ea...

Re: Novak T-1X: Removed one FET, now works!

@jwscab I saw you posted the RFP70N06, as a replacement in this https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=34048 . I haven't sealed the case yet, but should my OCD kick in, is this a good replacement for this ESC? They are certainly cheap enough. I've been looking at other posts here, it appears the a...

Novak T-1X: Removed one FET, now works!

Hey All, I had this Novak T-1X in my parts and I didn't test it until now. It immediately heated up, on my test rig, along with my test battery. Clearly a short. I have a "maker" knowledge of FETS. Initially, I wasn't going to bother with this, but I took it apart. One FET looked odd, the ...

RC12 Restore / Tire Advice

I've had this car sitting in a bin for 10+ years. It looks like it would be a fun car. The tires are spent; any ideas for replacement ones? I took a nylon brush to it, but I intend on tearing it down to rebuild it. Any other advise on this car? It clearly needs tires, which is always an issue. Thanks!

Team Car Spur Washers

I'm putting back together a team car and I came across this: there is a hardened washer at the left, and what appears to be an aluminum (shock washer), grooved washer to the right. How would you proceed? I'm looking at Team Associated No. 6594. Additionally, flat washer side toward the bearing? Than...

Re: Early Team Car - Restore

I'm not as good as posting updates to a rebuild progress, but I ended up creating 3D models of the few parts that I was missing. From left to right: stealth bushing, front shock pivot, rear shock shorty pivot, pivoting shock button. They came out great and work very well. I'll create a thingiverse a...
