B2 blackout!

Post by ELF-BMX »

So i think ill try to finally do a build thread. I been collecting b2 pieces for awhile and ive always wanted to do a completely blacked out b2 with all the graphite they offered. The only thing i can think of that would be black are front axles, but maybe i can find someone to anodize some. Will update when i can.

This will be interesting.
I really like the B2.
I my self have plans on doing a Tamiya Super Astute all in black and or grayscale.
When it comes to small aluminum parts such as screws and in this case front axles you could try with Birchwood Casey Aluminum black. Just be thorough when cleaning

So im assembled front end and im bummed that my small black nylon nuts wont work to hold innner tower ball studs on because they hit the bulkhead, so i had to use mini aluminum till i try to find mini black nuts. I love the stock black buckles with black cups. And the fresh front tower pretty slick too.

I may have some black anodized shock bodies left over from a blacked out project I did that may fit your project.

So i got a little further this weekend.

Rear end and transmission.

So i known the transmission never technically came in graphite but i took a pic of a a case using 1 side of each case so you can see differences. Look graphite to me.

Look at left side, looks graphite right? Vs. regular case on right side

Really like the blackout idea. 8)

If you intend driving it, I would drop the Schumacher Viscodrive. 1st, it added a lot of weight and 2nd, more important, it is not black.

Keep the pictures coming...

Cheers mate!
From Switzerland with love...

Ok so the car is completed for the most part. My blackout shocks from my man kevin (orangemazda) will be here soon. I love the shape of the B2 cars ( that why i want a Ultima type R so bad).
Because of all the graphite it looks like a grey-out car not black out, o’well. Also have some black mini 4-40 nuts and black oxide washers coming.

Thanks guys for the links and suggestions.
