Lol, we can get some pics like that during the Fest on the 18th....as far as the wing mount for Keith, its not stock but was real cheap. Wing buttons and wire are from....."say it" "oh no!" Traxxas

No way known I'm buying any of that T word rubbish . I'd never sink to that level. On another note, I've managed to track down and buy the rear torque rod set SG-27.

Hey! Wow! I remember you had said you wanted one of these when you were working on the Assault and I was cleaning up my MKII.
I’m glad you found one.

And Keithrc has one too?! That’s a lot of Stingers all of a sudden. Congrats!

Front bumper is textured bottom, no logo. My dad broke mine the very first day we drove it back when I was a kid, just after telling me I should be gentler on the throttle. I don’t think I ever replaced it.

Are you not happy with the repro body itself, or because of the slight trouble you had with the decals and paint?
I ask because I had considered buying a new body I saw on ebay.

That engine looks spectacular. Especially with that paper filter.

Hope to see it running.
(I had to put all my rc stuff on hold, so I still haven’t taken care of my worn piston and sleeve.)

The repro body from ebay (Canada) is real good. I just wish i had done the decals traditional on the outside instead of the inside cause of the bubbles trapped inside. But actually the more i look at it the better i like it. But next project prolly still go outside

Sounds like you fitted the decals dry, didn't use a solution to help line them up accurately?

Bakauata, yea I bought a Stinger MK2 about 6 months ago, came pretty much complete (and barely used by the looks of it, it's very clean) with servo's but no transmitter/receiver, also an original new uncut body and repro wing. I probably should start a post on it, still needs a couple things though.

Not to worry about small imperfections. Think of them as adding character. I have 3 cars with the inside decals, all TBG, all with small bubbles.
All 3 were done carefully. They were done wet with all small amount of Dawn dishwashing soap mixed with clean water per recommendation of MCI. Used a new bondo applicator cut in smaller pieces as a squeege.
I think very very small imperfections on the inside surface can cause these bubbles. These imperfections (dust or dirt) can be attracted to that surface by static electricity when the protective film is removed or the mold is not clean.
The other source is dust or dirt in the air when applying the decals just like window tint.
So it's not just you and I probably won't use inside decals again either.

No video cause i dont have youtube acct....but fired this up for the 1st time today....no issues at all. Ran 190 degrees. Ran and drove unbeleivable. Its got vintage S148 servos so response is slower than todays stuff, but other than that it was perfect. Big power too!

Thanks for sharing this restoration project! Just lovely result and the fact you went the whole extra mile to also restore the engine to make it run properly - mechanical empathy right there! Tasteful upgrade of the shocks as well.

I've always had an eye for the Stinger MKII - and I do have a thing for belt driven 4wd As a kid I considered it to be the GP version of the Optima Mid even

Pity they didn't evolve this platform but went for the shaft driven GP10s later on...

I bet it must be quite powerful and efficient with the O.S. CZ engine and the belt driven drivetrain
