My Masive XX stash!
My Masive XX stash!
Hello guys,
I have been amassing XX parts to support my Gen 1 XX for several years now. In doing so I have also slowly been collecting enough parts (mostly NIP) to assemble my the XX that I coveted for many years. To go with all the NIP to assemble a BK XXCR I have collected as many Trinity Hop ups as I could find. The only one I think I am missing is the fabled Trinity Blue Aluminum Bulkhead. If I ever find it I will install it. For now I will go with what I have.
In my XX collection there is my orginial Gen 1 hydra drive XX. I got the car when it was new back in 93 and raced it for many years. This car has many many race miles and at least double the bashing miles. Even though most of the parts have been replaced at one time or another it has pretty much remaind stock through it's life.
The other two cars are what I am pretty sure, what's left of BK XXCR cars that have been well cared for and well used through out their lives. They will serve as donner cars for any little bits I don't already have for the BK build, and most likely one will be my runner. I still haven't decided yet if my new build BK XXCR will be a runner or a shelfer, time will tell I guess.
Finally I also think I have enough parts to build a XXCR to go with my BK. So in the end I will have all the models (save the budget bushing XX) of the XX, which has been a long time goal.
So I will start the pictures off with my Gen 1 XX.
Here is a pic of the hydra drive
Here is the original Transmission case, just bearly holding on for dear life
After taking it off the self for these pictures I see that it's in dire need of a good rebuild. Perhaps after the BK build I will spend some time on my Gen 1 and bring it back to life.
The next two cars are the donner cars. One is pretty much ready to run, the other needs a few minor parts to get it running, but for now they will serve as donners to get my new build completed.
This first one looks like it could either be a hopped up XXCR, or maybe BK XXCR that's had parts changed.
This last pic of this car is what makes me doubt if it was in fact a BK edition. You can see that it doesn't have the tell tale blue mortor plate, but this light weight one looks very new, so it's possible the original blue was swaped for this one.
The one with the white body in the back ground is the other donner car, I have posted pictures of it on the forum not long ago so I won't repost the same ones again. But either way it looks to be in pretty good condition and was well taken care of.
So here is the parts lot that I am pretty sure will build my BK
Some close ups of the parts, I was able to find a Pitwizard to go with my Cyclone (thanks to a member on the forum). I also have Team Checkpoint 12T brushed motor on its way to power this car.
I have several spare Hydra Drive units, one even NIP. I really like the engineering behind it, and I have always thought it to be a pretty neat bit of kit. So I will put one on my BK build, mostly just for the cool factor...LOL
Here are the trinity parts for the build
Found these at oldrc.com, thought it would be nice to complement the rest of the blue parts.
The coveted blue motor plate, along side a NIP light weight
I also have a NIP accelerator body, just haven't decided yet how I am going to paint it, but it will be inspired by box art.
Here is a picture of the full collection of parts and cars. It's XX heaven!
Here are some close ups of the parts lot
Should have enough trannies to last me while...LOL
Some bulkheads, with one NIP. The other two are from Oldrc.com
Here are all the unpainted bodies, a few NIP and one from TBG
One last shot of the lot
So that's it for now, next step, which I might today, is to gather up the parts for each "bag" and then start to build! I will start another thread for the build. Hope you guys enjoy the XX porn! I know I love to look at those pictures!

Re: My Masive XX stash!
That is quite the accomplishment! I just recently dove into the world of the XX and UPS is really taking their time with this one. lol Anyway, to say that is a massive stash is quite accurate!
Edit: I spoke too soon. UPS showed up earlier than expected. +1 for UPS!!

Re: My Masive XX stash!
I can see the title race for the biggest XX 'stash' is on. I might even submit mine.......... but then again I don't really want to see how bad the 'problem' has become.

WOW!
I love the XX car, it was my first Losi vehicle. Made me switch to Losi brand for racing until I decided to do this vintage thing.

Re: My Masive XX stash!
Are the white bulkheads you have the Sabula ones? Are they any good? As I need to source that and the top plate for my old XX. Impressive collection though. Looking forward to seeing your BK CRgo together with all that bling.

Re: My Masive XX stash!
Ahead of the OP, the STA1101 is the Sabula Tech repro bulkhead and is made from the same nylon material as the original white Losi bulkhead. There's a thread regarding the new bulkhead here:Spike wrote:Are the white bulkheads you have the Sabula ones? Are they any good? As I need to source that and the top plate for my old XX.
