I need box art. Pics, scans, pdf, etc

Post by Ron Jeremy »

I am doing a little web project and need images of the front of boxes for the following kits:

RC10 CE (1990)
RC10 Team Car
RC10 T
RC10 CE (1992)
RC10 Team Truck
RC10 B2
RC10 T2
RC10 DS series (basically all of them)
RC10 B3 FT
RC10 T3 FT

If you can help in any way, that would be cool!

Even scan of AE brochures that includes the box art. The images will be small, so high res not required.

Example:

Maybe even links to sites that have pics of the boxes?
Heh, I am desperate

I can manipulate the images and can live with less than perfect, so don't be afraid to hook me up with virtually anything.

Thanks in advance.

I'll try to whip up:

6010, 6011, 6035, 7001, 7011, 7035, 7036, 7037, both non pull-start GT Team kit boxes (pre-flat-chassis, I think 7063 & 7067...) and the 7683 engine installation box.

Be a day or two... 8)

Excellent! Thanks!
When I'm done, I'll post what this is all about.
It is no big deal, really, but what I am creating doesn't seem to exist on the Internet... yet

This is what's happening:

http://www.theshreves.com/rc_stuff/rc10history.htm

Super cool!!

Some additional truck info for your work in progress:

You need to add the 7001 truck in 1991 and put the 7011 in 1993 along with the 7035 Team Truck.

7001: stealth, dogbones, bearings, hard ano'd shocks, narrow and wide three-piece front wheels on the first run of kits (all 7001 came with three-piece wheels). Same box art as the 7011 truck.

7011: also has three-piece wheels.

7035: graphite transmission brace, front arms have two shock mounting holes, shock tower has three per side and is thicker (same front suspension as the first GT's), aluminum inline front axles, 30 degree caster blocks, three degree arm mounts and zero degree rear hub carriers. Later 7011/7035 have black composite arms in the original pattern. The last of the 7011 trucks (the RC10ST) get front and rear T2 suspension arms and front shock tower, black plastic everywhere, and a black fiberglass rear tower that was only used on the RC10ST iirc. I don't know if the last Team kits were this way...

Use whatever info you want, if you want... I'm going to do a complete evolutionary writeup of the 10T whenever I get a spare couple of hours. There is a lot of info!

That's exactly the sort of timeline I have been looking for, as a newbie this sort of stuff is really interesting and it's presented in an attractive way to. :D

Thanks for the info, templeofspeed. You appear to be the expert on the trucks! Which is perfect because short of the DS kits, my weakest area is the trucks. Information on the net is poor about the trucks. And I never owned a T. Had 2 GTs over the years...
I recently scored a set of the narrow front tires, however

I'll add your info pretty soon. I have a few other tidbits to add as well.
I have to honestly say that I have never heard of the ST! Sport Truck?
One thing I wish I had done with the page, and still may do (in spite of the crazy amount of work it would take) is scan and/or reference where I got all the info. For example, I'd add another column all the way to the right with a title of "reference" and below it just a row of numbers where each number is a link to the scanned document or website, etc.

Yep, sold at the same time the T2 was first released, before they had released a "sport" version of it. Sport T2's had a resistor speed control mounted to GT throttle servo mounts on the left side which necessitated two extra holes in the chassis not found on the earlier T2 kits (the only "production" change on the T2 chassis, sort of a "B" version).

I'm just chock full of geeky truck info FWIW...

Yes, yes you are. I'll set you up with some credit on the page when we're all done.
I am glad you brought this up because I needed a kick in the butt for this project. I kinda started petering out there...
