When the original GP-10 series was released (RS200 in the US), Kyosho soon released a kit that got rid of the belts and "centered" the drive train. Shortly after, they released the inferno 10...that used this set up.

And the Lazer suspension arms were released in a separate kit called "Multi Link Suspension" that also contains new shock towers.

That pic reminds me of a question I've asked myself many times: what are all those extra holes for on the shocktower.
It seems a bit typical for kyosho towers to have a couple of unused holes in them.

Good question. Maybe they made them as general parts and others models used other holes? Like a truck version would have body mount posts mounted in different holes than the wing on the buggy and some cars had the shock tower itself mounted in other holes.

Just thinking loud :D

that's certainly true for some models, but in this particalar case , I don't think so. As far as I know this shocktower was only used on the inferno 10.
The ford and peugeot bot have the rampage rear tower. I guess an optional stabilizer could account for some holes.

There is an optional stabilizer (and an aftermarket one) so that accounts for some of the holes. There is also an optional blue alloy shock tower, but I'm not sure it uses the same design. Body posts typically attach to some of the upper holes on these shock towers. So that leaves "really weird camber link options" and "using shorter rear shocks". :D

The manual says the .10 class engine is to be purchased separately. But I'd not be surprised if that was only true at the the time the manual was made.
My sandmaster has a sticker added on the box with the type of engine included.
