 I would hope it's not sweaty, that would just be gross!

Sweet beers have their place, like a desert beer to enjoy after dinner. If you're working in the yard, then it's got to be light bodied like a PA, or you're right, the "syrup" thing kicks in and will make you hurl.

My own homebrew of course...brewery wise:

Bear Republic is excellent - can't get it here in WV though. Lagunitas is good too. Oskar Blues.Spaten Oktoberfest (currently in style this time of year).

Got some Great Lakes in the fridge for the game t'night.

Edit: Forgot all about Einbecker Mai-ur-bock - mmmmmmmm

Warsteiner? Really? I was super disapointed with that one, like it was the german Budweiser

I love micro brews. This place here in town has a great Honey Blonde. Plus, I get to use the same joke every time my wife and I go there.

"What can I get you folks?"
"I'll take a Honey Blonde...oh and bring me a beer too."

It's not funny except for the fact that I make my wife sit thru it every time. I've been all over and I will say that their pizza is the best you'll find anywhere. If you're ever in Evansville you should check it out.

If I'm watching football though...Busch Light and keep 'em comin'!

not a fan of the IPA, usually, I tend towards the sweeter maltier beer.

Of course, as I get older, I find that beer seems to give me heartburn more so that other alcohols, so I've been into whiskey's lately.....

Back to beer,

I like these generally:

Spaten Lager, and this time of year, octoberfest
Sam's octoberfest
Smithwicks
Boddingtons

And don't laugh, but the miller high life has been a nice change of pace when we are chillin at happy hour.....good specials, and it doesn't give me as much heartburn....

I'm a big fan of Stone Brewery in CA, but it's hard to get here in the bible belt. And since Arrogant Bastard has a high alchohal content it has to be sold in wine stores.

Yes, in TN liquor and beer can't be sold in the same store and grocery stores can only sell beer. Just last year a bill passed to let grocery stores sell mixers, it was a "huge" controversy to all the bible thumpers. It's a beautiful state but stuck in a religion run government

They have some great brews
Arrogant Bastard
IPA
Double IPA

I think I started the last beer topic, but it was probably 2 years ago.

Aaaaahhhh crap! I'm about to get passed by that orange truck!

Real ale all the way for me.... i'm lucky in that there's a bar in town thats been awarded regional best real-ale pub for a few years running now - they've always got a great selection of guest beers, from various pale-ales to Stout :P

Generally i'm not a big fan of light beers/largers... but I do rather like Kolsch - which is the local beer to the Cologne region of Germany.

If I am drinking beer, it's either Haffenreffer Private Stock (the green death) or Red Stripe.

I'm a whiskey drinker. ;)
