Well, that explains those other holes in my worlds tower then! Learn somethin' new everyday...

the front end looks better with the 1.02 shocks on it though.

Learned something new again, I thought all 10t's had the AE logo on the nose plate
The 1.02" shocks also look like they will work very well...that's a lot of travel for a buggy, it equals my old FT T3 and that thing can jump

Yes, I definitely agree with you there..... I've always wondered though, why did RPM include their yellow springs for the 1.02" shocks if you could just use soft truck springs? Are they softer yet than any available truck spring?

to use the 1.02's on the front, you have to add some limiters inside the shocks, and cut a couple coils (i think 3) off of the truck front springs. rpm actually had 2 different "worlds" springs specifically for it.

the worlds tower is not as tall as a 10t tower.

O.k. gotcha! I've never actually ran a car with this front end yet. I've been peicing one together to restore my ultra molded buggy, so please excuse my learning curve.. The info about the limiters is nice to know before I assemble the shocks! :D I do have the correct yellow springs. Last time I talked to Atticus at RPM (over 18 months ago atleast) they still had quite a bit of these springs available....

They had the AE logo on the stock nylon bumper instead. Which obviously got lost when you switched to RPM's mini bumper...

I think I'm done hi-jacking this thread now.....

Nah, these are very helpful info, I don't mind at all.

I may try the longer front shocks in the future, but for now I'll stick with the stock one.

What if you use 0.89's w/buggy springs and a large stack of spring spacers (or the older clamp style shock collars)? Would you still need the limter's/down stops?

the .89's are too short. you'd have to drill new mounting points somewhere in between the ones that are already on the tower.

That is some good info, because it would be better to use 1.02's with cut truck springs and down stops, instead of drilling an extra hole in something rare and valuable.

They didn't supply the P/N as they were shipped to me loose and not in an RPM bag. I just contacted RPM through their website and asked. Atticus was who I dealt with...

On a side note about the front shocks, I was going to ask a similar question about the .89's. What if you used 1.02" bodies with .89" shafts? Would that be close to the appropriate length? I would still use RPM's springs. 8)

there is no .89 shaft. the .89 shocks use the .71 shaft. the b44 front shock shafts are .80 (i think). would a .71 shaft in a 1.02 body be the right length for a worlds front end? i don't know, never tried it.

now would a pair of b44 front shocks be the right length for a worlds front end? maybe, but the shock bodies are still too short, so you'll end up putting uptravel limiters on the outside of the shock to compensate for it.
