A legend rebuilt
I couldn't take it anymore. All that dirt, grime, and the crazy nest of zip ties just sitting there on the shelf among all the nice clean cars.
The original condition of the car can be seen here:
http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=6334
Here it is after a complete tear-down and rebuild. I added in some missing pieces like nose tubes, spring clamps, and trans brace.
I also converted the trans to full ball bearings from bushings, added turnbuckles in favor of the plain threaded rod and put a wide front bumper on.
The creative electronics situation was ditched in favor of a standard servo setup, traxxas ESC and a more modern, rebuildable, stock motor. The front battery cup was moved forward enough to fit modern batteries, no guilt drilling and countersinking 2 holes in this one
Does anyone know who made the bumper? It looks similar to a proline one I have but is not the same.

Well, it's really come a long way. I just hope it hasn't lost the sweet body you had for it at the VoNats. That was one sweet body. Like to see it again maybe with some nice decals "Caffeine Free Diet Coke" or something like that. Of course it needs an RC10talk.com sticker. It is definitely one of the all time classics.

Re: A legend rebuilt
That does look good... just nekkid without that soda bottle on it though!
I would lean towards CRP bumper- it matches the Frog/Brat ones that I have. Proline ones had that clear, milky white color-- these have that easily-yellowed CRP plastic. I don't recall Parma making the white 'tube' bumpers, but they did make the flat solid black style- like their nerf wings. If I get a chance I'll check my bumper drawer.

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

I've got a few of those bumpers and as already said you can get them for stuff like the Frog. Pretty sure its CRP.

Really, a nice usable six gear car now. No need for a gifted driver with exemplary car handling skills anymore...

Nice car I like the blackrims . Did you dye them ? That is a CRP bumper the PROLINE bumper is straight on the back were the CRP curves up at the ends. What rear tires are those?

That turned out nice and the best part is when your not running it, you can use the tub to grate parmesean cheese on your pasta.
