Gravel is the same as the top pic, Knowing RJ that’s definitely his truck, has definitely dropped a bomb with this one, glad my next build isn’t finished, no chance against this beauty

Posting up a cool oddball this month, an early eghties Kyosho Toyota Hilux.
You could get three versions of this platform, the Sand Skipper, VW Baja Bug and the Toyota Hilux.
Special featsures of this platform is the gearbox with centrifugal clutch and pnaumatic tires inflated with a syringe (you can see the syringe in the body off picture).
This very car was a European version distributed by robbe. They came without the roll bar and with a wide bumper.

Bump steer much?

This one definitely needs a build thread, or a disassemble/reassemble thread. Very cool indeed!

That being said I plan on putting a modern setup in it one day, but it’s been on the back burner for a while now…..

I had one of those years back. I enjoyed it a lot but eventually ended up chipping some gear teeth and it would skip through bad spots. Hopefully you have good gears.

Yeah, forgot about listing excessive bump steer as one of the special features of the platform.

I'll post up a track test rather than build thread. It's just super smooth on modern high grip tracks, especially with very large jumps. Showing off its hill climb abilities
