Yeah this didn't work. This year I am making a conditioned shed to hold my collection.
I was originally going to sell off my RC stuff that I hadn't used, put together a XXX-4 to sell, but decided to give it one last run at the local track...Now my collection has tripled in size and only a single truck had been sold.
I really need to reduce what I have as well. I came to the realization several years ago that I'm never going to finish the majority of projects I have. It's due to many factors such as a lack of time, money, desire, ambition, and health all play a part. It also affects everything else in my life, not just R/C. Due to the aforementioned, it's equally as hard for me to deal with the process of selling things. As a result, everything just sits collecting dust as the years go by.
In order to protect and display my personal RC collection, I came up with the following:
- 24 x 36 x 72 Plastic Storage Shelving (5 Shelves)
- Duratrax Pit Stand - Protects tires from flat spots
- Ziploc XL4 Big Bags - Seals out the dust,...

I have 26 cars supported this way.
So what, about 1/4th of your collection? :P You should post a pic of them all together.
I picked up a sheet of 1/8 g-10 and was going to cut out some shock towers. I have a scroll saw, cutoff wheel etc. Is there anything special I need to know before I start cutting? I know the dust is an itchy pita but is there anything else? Thanks...

I didn't notice much if any dust. With the teeth it was more small chips than anything.
My original 6 gear transmission (mid-motor mounted on a graphite chassis - bought it this way) is making some nasty grinding noises (since I bought it as well). I am guessing it might be a differential problem as it goes straight ok but the noise...

Ok, now a full Thorp 48p gear conversion kit has appeared on ebay; kit includes outdrive, idler and differential shaft gears...
I still haven't had time to take my transmission apart to see what is lurking inside.
I was just wondering how everyone cleans there buggy and truck.. I just took my two off the shelve after they have been sitting there for about 15 years un-used.. they have some dirt, grease, and grime on them.. i would like to get them to the new...

Gotta throw out the Oxyclean & superhot water, and all the grease, dirt and crap just floats to the top of the water
I've looked through the forum and other than a few piecemeal pieces of advice I've not actually seen a thread with driving tips from experienced, race winning drivers.
Obviously different drivers will have different opinions on driving techniques...

I don't get to track much these days and took a break from the track from 1992 to 2010. Things sure did change . Tires is all I can say now for an average racer at best. Get those right first, I don't recall back in the 90's it mattering quite...

yeah, i'd say traxxas shocks too, they are a light gold, most associated from what i've seen are more orange. I'm not familiar enough with the early rc10's....I could never afford them, hah.
I know there are a lot of us that run modern RC's so I figured I'd get the ball rollin on some B4 knowledge that I know is in this forum
So if you have any setup tips, tricks, etc. post them up!
Right now I'm running the soft setup on...

Did some club racing yesterday and I have to say my B4 is dialed in(for me). I was within 1 second of the fastest lap, but I was not consistent and could not keep it between the pipes when it mattered. Once the race was over I was able to keep it on...
