New transmitter wheel for Sanwa

Post by mAdMan »

The tire on my wheel is rotted and just fell off. It’s an Airtronics/Sanwa MT-4. Can any one recommend a high quality replacement? The foam is really rotted and hard.

**I don’t mind and think I would prefer if the wheel/tire was larger so I could control with one hand slightly easier then I do

Just replace the foam donut.....

There are quite a few online and not expensive....

Sanwa replacement- https://www.amainhobbies.com/sanwa-airtronics-wide-steering-wheel-foam-grip-m11x-mt4-m12-snw107a90134a/p587628

Or make your own out of a foam tire

I like the JConcepts ones, extremely comfortable. Only thing that I don't like is the grey color.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Love THE SMOOTHEE tire on the transmitter... funny stuff.

Dunno if you've found what you're looking for yet but Sanwa/Airtronics offers replacement wheel foam under two part numbers:

107A90131A: Fits models prior to M11X (Machine-1, Machine-A, M11, BLAZER, MX-3,MX-3S, MX-A, etc. (17mm wheel width)

107A90134A: Fits M11X, M12, M12S, M17, MT-4, MT-4S, MT-44, MT-S, MT-5, MT-R (20mm wheel width)

Transmitter wheel diameters are all the same at 41MM and the O.D. of the grip is 51~52mm

Foams are widely available.

Believe it or not I’ve been sticking with the smoothee 🤣 ultimate sandcar front tire

I personally use a Yokohama traction service 720 with the sides cut down for hard pack in my 4 seater but there is nothing like a smoothee on sand at 8 psi.

Edit: these ones. Funny my sidewalls definitely say traction service not tractor lol
